Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I don't think there's much there with Gyorko, to be honest. Derek Dietrich is a free agent second baseman who is a year young, has better career stats, and has just as clear a shot at playing time. Better projections too. Literally the only difference is the distribution of their past production. Because Gyorko's was all concentrated in one season (a fairly arbitrary collection of 182 days), he has a better reputation. Everyone who wanted to give up a second rounder for Gyorko should go rush to grab Dietrich. DIAF. (cf)
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I was sitting here thinking about offering my 2nd + more for a Jerko buy low, with Wright still missing time. Damn. I probably would have gave up my first rounder. *******s.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Me: Hey Yahoo, the Red Sox game was postponed today so I'm going to bench David Ortiz and play Torii Hunter, cool? Yahoo: Sure! Just let me bench your 4 starting pitchers tomorrow while I'm at it.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Everytime I make an add or change my lineup, Yahoo f***s up my lineups for the rest of the week. Pretty damn annoying.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Everytime I make an add or change my lineup, Yahoo f***s up my lineups for the rest of the week. Pretty damn annoying. Humm... This happens to me when I make an add but usually a change only applies to that day unless my roster wasn't set for the next day in the first place.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Argh, BP trolled me hard. They had build-up articles for their top 50 the past couple weeks, yesterday is the final one before the list drops and...July 4! f*** f*** f***. Haha nice so I'm not the only one eagerly waiting to see all the ranks. I want to see if my Bell cracked some top 50s. It feels like they were already out by this point last year, but maybe it's all psychological.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Iirc they hinted Norris was on it, guessing he's mid 40s. I kind of like my farm. [king]Not much of a haul in the last draft, but in addition to the aforementioned Norris, Brinson is opening some eyes, Stanek striking bitches out, Santana getting a cup of coffee, Vogelbach coming around lately even. YAY ME.[/king] Getting Nicolino for Vogelbach is looking like a pretty bad trade.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I was going to take a flier on Nicolino for my NA but some swine snagged him first. Had second thoughts after dropping him. He's still kind of intriguing. Success in the Mark Buehrle mode is an unlikely career path and not the best recipe for fantasy relevance either but there are signs that he might pull it off.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I hate how they lock players in postponed games too.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I hate how they lock players in postponed games too. Yeah that's a real dick move.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Anyone wanna take a chance on Ernesto Frieri?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I have nobody on the list I'll trade you Glasnow again? He's allowed 4 runs over his last 9 starts.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Yes! Russell to Wrigley, that is amazing. Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for top shortstop prospect Addison Russell, Dan Strailey, Billy McKinney

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Wow, pretty surprised the A's gave up Russell to go for it this year. As a Shark owner I love the boost though!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Is this real life? I'd like to see two teams in a dynasty league make a trade involving players traded in real life, though that would be tough to do. Never think I saw it happen.

I'd think Russell + Straily is similar to a Stroman + Sanchez package.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 They just couldn't resist McKinney, that's the real story here. Is this sarcastic? I honestly don't know s*** about McKinney.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I think what's better than the switch to Wrigley is that he'll now be surrounded by a core of Bryant/Baez/Soler! They might have the most interesting young roster crunch in a few years. Likely they will have to trade some bats for pitching eventually. If anyone on their current team builds any value they can keep their top 10 under 25 together. They should be dangling Castro in front of the Jays, as much as he's playing well he's had one horrible season already (last year) and making $6M with a $1M raise each year, and is likely less valuable if he moves to 2B.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Dickerson not starting, orly Yahoo? f***ers. They got me with Rosario. Of course today is the day he chooses to hit while Zunino goes 0-3
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Sure as s***, cranks a badly needed HR. I hate you Yahoo. Corey Dickerson Col-CF x LAD Corey Dickerson Col-CF x LAD Corey Dickerson Col-CF x LAD Corey Dickerson Col-CF x LAD Corey Dickerson Col-CF x LAD
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 They tried to correct it, so I'm using this as evidence in my class action lawsuit. Welp Edwin down, I'm getting drunk, motherf*** every goddamn thing. That's the spirit. That's the only way I've been able to get over dealing Jose Abreu for Jose Fernandez in my other league (one week before his season ended).
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Also WTF BP is slacking I thought they were supposed to have their top 50 up today. I'm so god damn antsy to see the entire list.
