NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 lmao @ North holding 4 prospects and 13 picks #wastingassets #marketinefficiency #billybeaneoftheDDL There's going to be a frenzy for picks at 11:30 tonight. I'm prepared.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I'm drunk as a skunk, not sure what I agreed too?? t Already. Drank to many Buds?
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 There's going to be a frenzy for picks at 11:30 tonight. I'm prepared. Who are your buyers? There's literally only one person (dinger) who has more vacant spots than picks right now.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I'm drunk as a skunk, not sure what I agreed too?? t Spanky with a drunken triple post. I love it.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Who are your buyers? There's literally only one person (dinger) who has more vacant spots than picks right now. There will be more after prospects get cut. You said yourself you were likely to cut Banuelos and acquire a pick! Makes sense to cut Goodwin too IMO.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Who are your buyers? There's literally only one person (dinger) who has more vacant spots than picks right now. And I've had offers from 4 teams. I'm not a motivated buyer either, I'm fine with only carrying 11 prospects. If someone meets my asking price, a deal can get done.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 And I've had offers from 4 teams. I'm not a motivated buyer either, I'm fine with only carrying 11 prospects. If someone meets my asking price, a deal can get done. I have the same stance. It's undeniable that it's a buyers market right now. Sellers are the ones facing picks that will dissolve into nothing.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I'm only willing to do upgrades of 5-10 spots, with an additional pick approximately one round after coming my way.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Yes, but I anticipate a minor downgrade in the 40s for an additional 50s/60s pick. That would only work for a seller with too many high picks, the 50s/60s pick being their last. Which doesn't really describe anyone. And I've had offers from 4 teams. I'm not a motivated buyer either, I'm fine with only carrying 11 prospects. If someone meets my asking price, a deal can get done. Posturing. You and FTD will be singing a very different tune in 11 hours.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 That would only work for a seller with too many high picks, the 50s/60s pick being their last. Which doesn't really describe anyone. I probably come closest to that description but FTD's picks are too low for even his highest pick to be of any use to me. Same problem with BTS his picks are so low that a 2 for 1 only helps him and does nothing for me.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I have picks to move. Made you a wise offer.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Posturing. You and FTD will be singing a very different tune in 11 hours. Even in said scenario, it would make infinitely more sense for us to go to Havok/Hurl/Gibbers for a pick. They each have 7+ picks and a packed farm. I'm sure they would give away their later picks for next to nothing. You have vacant space so you would probably charge more.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I have pick 86 projected to vaporize, if anyone wants gives me even a 1 pick upgrade at 41, 50 or 52 it's yours. If only I had 40 instead of 42.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Double, but yeah,,,,,I can't edit or delete from the PS3? It's triple and the times were at 7:50, 7:58, and 8:05 hahaha
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Triple? Yeah 3 of the same post in a row.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I still laugh thinking of TCA's drunken PM...who couldn't use an extra Hitler? Hitler + that Chinese guy make up TCA's core.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 If I were to promote a prospect, would a Commissioner insert him into NA for me? I'd prefer not to drop a player to do it. Hypothetically; I haven't made any decisions yet.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 If I were to promote a prospect, would a Commissioner insert him into NA for me? I'd prefer not to drop a player to do it. Hypothetically; I haven't made any decisions yet. You can't add directly into NA as a commish. If there is a way, I'm yet to find it. Didn't we have a discussion on why it's a good thing that you can't do that?
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 If I were to promote a prospect, would a Commissioner insert him into NA for me? I'd prefer not to drop a player to do it. Hypothetically; I haven't made any decisions yet. No.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Didn't we have a discussion on why it's a good thing that you can't do that? That was w.r.t. trades... not promotions. Promotions are a completely artificial construct created by our Constitution. Not a Yahoo thing. No. Okay. Would I be able to delay my adding of the prospect by a day? I.e., I announce that I'm promoting the prospect and tomorrow I add him.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Okay. Would I be able to delay my adding of the prospect by a day? I.e., I announce that I'm promoting the prospect and tomorrow I add him. My inclination is to say no. I'll wait for another Darrell to weigh in.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Don;t pick dissolve when they come up anyway? Why would you bother announcing them now
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 My inclination is to say no. I'll wait for another Darrell to weigh in. Alright. People have probably done it before, I'm just not sure if it's official protocol. Don;t pick dissolve when they come up anyway? Why would you bother announcing them now The email says that they dissolve into the ether at 11:59 PM tonight. There was talk of letting them exist until they come up but I don't think anything was decided.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Okay. Would I be able to delay my adding of the prospect by a day? I.e., I announce that I'm promoting the prospect and tomorrow I add him. Nah, you've got to actually promote him by the deadline. Sorry dude. I don't want to give someone wiggle room that is going to give them some kind of tactical advantage in a current matchup.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Excess picks dissolve as soon as the deadline passes. When we put together the draft list, all surplus picks will not be added to the list. Last year we did the same thing. Actually, we might have had them disappear as soon as the draft started, but it doesn't matter, same thing.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Anthony Ranaudo is getting cut, unless someone wants him for basically any draft pick upgrade.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I haven't really been pulling my weight lately, so I'll put together the draft order when the deadline passes.
