Laika Community Moderator Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 I'd really like to know who the handful of interesting, unowned, draftable prospects are..... but I might be way too lazy to do the digging.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 Mark Buehrle is 84th all time in pitching bWAR. Four more league average ish seasons and he could move into the top 50. 11 bWAR back of Roy Halladay, what are his odds of catching Doc? 5% maybe? Buehrle 4HOF? lol.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I still can't believe I couldn't get a 6th for Buehrle given the absolute s*** left on the waiver wire for SP. The teams that could use him won't make the playoffs anyway. Its a waste of a roster spot

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) Two of the guys taken in the BBDL draft so far are DDL waiver draft eligible. Pretty sure there's only 1. Edited February 18, 2014 by The Cats Ass
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Jose Fernandez averaged 600 miles per week on a special $10,000 bike this offseason and lost 25 lbs. Not sure if I like this, or love it.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Everybody knows Eddie Butler ain't making it past #5 (or 3, probably).

Not sure if I like this, or love it. He wasn't fat to begin with. Now he's going to be too frail, and end up injuring himself. You better jump ship and deal him to me.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Pretty sure there's only 1. There's one other guy, he was drafted recently. And there's a decent pitching prospect available too.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Damn you Raburn and losing your 2B eligibility. Check before you trade kids.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I'll be happy with my number 5 pick no matter what happens in front of me
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 At some point that fastball velo has to bottom out and he won't be able to get away with it. 84.2 last year, the success he did have is damn impressive. Sent you a PM.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 I'm not at home, can someone post the DDL proboards link, also when's the waiver draft? Thanks Brosoffs, I have IS now, yippee! What's IS? I'll PM you the link. Let's not post links to our important places in this cesspool.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 The Rule 5 Draft (aka annual MLB draft, aka waiver draft) will start this weekend. I've posted the draft order in the "Draft Info" page on Proboards. We will conduct the draft in that thread and people will copy and paste the list, filling in their selections, as the draft goes on. We will have 12 hour draft windows, so it would be prudent for everyone to know when their picks are coming up and be prepared to select. If a pick is coming up for you and you might be away from ProBoards, you can always send a shortlist of players to a Darrell or another trusted league member in advance of your pick. Once a window expires, the draft continues in the same way as in our prospect draft, and the person holding an expired pick can make a selection whenever they arrive as the draft continues on beyond their lost selection. Any player in Yahoo's database may be selected, except for: A) players that are owned by a team on our MiLB rosters (see official roster spreadsheet on google docs). unowned prospects that have not played a game at AA or higher. C) players that are added to Yahoo's database after the start of the Rule 5 draft (see Rules > Rule 5 Draft). International free agents that are in Yahoo's database CAN be selected in the waiver draft. This includes Tanaka, Moon, Abreu, and guys like Adelmys Diaz and Alex Guerrero (although Diaz is not currently in the database). League members are expected to email the person following them in the draft upon making their pick, notifying the next guy that they are on the clock. Z3r0s has the #1 pick in this year's rule 5 draft, and he can kick off the draft whenever he wants after 12 noon on Friday the 21st. This is when his 12 hour window starts, and when our draft starts. If anybody has a good reason to push the draft back, please speak up. We aren't exactly in a rush - it's only February! If I forgot something important or messed up a pick in transcription, please speak up!
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 INTERWEBZ SERVICE.........and thanks mate, I'm a few hours out of the city at the moment. Did you run away with the circus?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 My buddies...........uhmmm, yes, yes I did in fact. The bearded lady is not the woman you're looking for **Jedi wave**

I'll try to do up a 'pick list' in the case my window is about to expire. If Tanaka is found dead, or has his arm chomped off by a gator or something prior to my pick, I reserve the right to change.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 There are definitely some very nice relievers available, I'll almost certainly be spending my 1st rounder on one.
TRM Verified Member Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Can't wait to spend my fifth round pick on a backup catcher to play while Grandal mends! In other news, I hope that no team is looking for anything but relievers in the draft.

In other news, I hope that no team is looking for anything but relievers in the draft. Well you have one guy to contend with on the non-reliever front . I sure felt better about my RP's before Billy Beane decided that Jim Johnson was a better bet to close than Cook or Doolittle, but I still like it.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Interesting list to say the least wish I could say I knew who I was going to pick at 3 lol. Oh so many holes to fill lol.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Yer dumn!! I'm sorry, but I can't hear you with my two Fantasy Challenge Championship rings plugged into my ears?
TRM Verified Member Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Anyone gonna give us a preseason preview/power rankings? Like to see everyone stacks up in the eyes of the people.
TRM Verified Member Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Better idea, we should get a couple (or everyone) to submit power rankings and then we average them out. Would be a rousing good time.
TRM Verified Member Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Anyone have the waiver draft order handy? I can't get onto proboards at the moment.
