Laika Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 At least that one looks fair. I'm starting to think I've made a very grave mistake with the DDL trade. It's not so much that trading Lawrie was a mistake, I just think you probably could've got a more solid pitcher. Better or at least more reliable. You paid a lot for a sizable portion of ERA and BABIP.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 I wonder if you could get a full one run ERA swing, for both guys, by transplanting these two pitchers onto the other guy's team: Guy we've been talking about Other guy edit - nvm it doesn't even look like a HR/FB thing between the 2. Does SafeCo even help pitchers that much anymore? What are the new park factors like there?
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 So Salazar is making his MLB tomorrow for Cleveland and yahoo still doesn't have him in the system. Is this typical? Yeah. With lots of guys that aren't big names, they don't add them until after they've played a game.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 So Salazar is making his MLB tomorrow for Cleveland and yahoo still doesn't have him in the system. Is this typical? yep after his debut he'll be added to waivers
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Sonny Gray making a nice MLB debut tonight, 3 K thru 2 IP so far in relief.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 (edited) Oh god, I didn't even know it was this bad. Hisashi since BTS traded Lawrie for him: 29 IP 22 ER 10 HR 33 Hits 4+ ER in every single start I think this is the definition of selling high. Looks like I unloaded him just in time. In his 3 starts before the trade he went 22.2 innings with 0 ER. He must have wanted to jack up his own trade value so that he could go to a contender. In all fairness though, Lawrie has yet to make a start for me.. Edited July 11, 2013 by The Cats Ass
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Looks like one of my prospects I drafted in the june draft will be going to college. Phil Bickford...
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 Looks like one of my prospects I drafted in the june draft will be going to college. Phil Bickford... You can still keep him. Probably not the best route for his development chances though, unfortunately.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I owned Karsten Whitson in a similar scenario in FC. It sucked.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I owned Karsten Whitson in a similar scenario in FC. It sucked. It won't if he goes all Beede on us. But it will if I hold onto him and waste a spot on him and then he disappears.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 It won't if he goes all Beede on us. But it will if I hold onto him and waste a spot on him and then he disappears. Is that really all that different then the risk you take on all prospects especially those out of high school?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 That's true. High risk, high award.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Thinking about changing my team name to "The Truest Cardinals." Allen Craig and Matt Carpenter are gods.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Heh! I love a surprise 3-way. To Oppo Taco: Jake Marisnick, Kolten Wong To BALCO: Chris Carter, 4th (Wrench) To A Wrench In The Plan: Asdrubal Cabrera, Save Collector Cishek
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Heh! I love a surprise 3-way. To Oppo Taco: Jake Marisnick, Kolten Wong To BALCO: Chris Carter, 4th (Wrench) To A Wrench In The Plan: Asdrubal Cabrera, Save Collector Cishek Yep we all got what we wanted; Carter gives my team a new look. I'm very high on Wong but the emergence of Kipnis made him expendable.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I think Wong is going to get traded soon. It's hard to imagine him unseating Mad Matt Carpenter anytime soon.

I've heard that they could trade Freese and move Carpenter to 3B. Lots of options. St. Louis also has a logjam in the OF (Taveras), at 1B (Adams), and in the rotation (an entire bullpen of starters). Crazy.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I assume I need to call someone up to my major league roster given that I now have 13 prospects in the fold?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Looks like I'll be starting the second half atop the Monte Cristo Division despite being just 5 games over 0.500. FYI, Week 15 doesnt end tonight, it ends next Sunday.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Also, the Munty Crisco division suuuuucks.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Well yeah, it kinda works to your advantage.
TRM Verified Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Also, the Munty Crisco division suuuuucks. Division Reuben > Cheesesteak = Turkey Bacon Club >>>>>>> Monte Cristo
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Cheesesteak might have four 100-win teams after this week.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 There are site upgrades going on right now and I was away all weekend. Can anyone tell me what my matchup ended up at?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 It's a 2 week matchup. There are site upgrades going on right now and I was away all weekend. Can anyone tell me what my matchup ended up at?
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 FYI, Week 15 doesnt end tonight, it ends next Sunday. Wow I didn't even notice this and it screwed me over in all 4 of my leagues. f*** me.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I'm looking to trade Cishek + Street or Pestano (or all 3!) for a slightly better reliever. Anybody need to add some BP depth?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Also, A.J. Ellis is available for a 6th rd pick if anyone wants a backup/platoon C with a nice OBP.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Don't I know it, I'm sure I've made you half a dozen offers on each.
