Even with that considered the offers have been atrocious. I have one legit fair offer, but the player isn't a good fit. Several teams have offered players who are tangibly worse than Lynn, on par but 6+ years older, or an awful combination of both. I'm gonna take my Lynn and go home.

Hahaha. Where on the spectrum does our conversation land!

I chose Henry Urrutia.

Yup. I've never done a league like this, but I'm expecting like 75% to get cut before the draft.

I know of one player I could cut already.

I dont think its that high. There will be plenty of graduations, but I still think about 1/4 will be dismissed to Non Prospect Land.

I've tried to balance the ETAs with my picks, four or so of my guys will be up by next year. It'll be interesting to see if people burn 25-man spots for prospects before next year's draft.

I know I'm likely going to have to go with some quick to the majors types in next years draft. I've got some likely graduates in my system, but I chose a LOT of young talent this year.

Same. Richie Shaffer is looking like a dud.

Miles Head for me. I can't believe I named my team after him..

Next year, bring on the "War Puigs"

Anyone out of the race and building for the future want to buy way low on Jon Niese? Could use a solid vet SP to help me in this season's push.

Vogelbach for me. The white Prince Fielder goes from low A to high A and loses nearly 300 points of OPS. Mike O' Neill is very drop worthy as well. His insane 2012 is looking like a total outlier and he's really old for AA.

Paulino and Cowart will probably be dropped if they don't make big strides next year. Austin and Mondesi have been meh. I traded Zunino.

Right now, my only good draft pick from Feb looks like Stroman. Hypothetically, I'd probably trade my entire February crop for my June crop.

I really wanted Vogelbach in the last round. Was pissed when you scooped him up.

My draft was badass: Byron Buxton, Ryan Zimmerman and James Shields. Marisnick also has like a .400 wOBA in AA now that no one is paying attention.

Now you can have him for a bag of balls or one of your own busts.

I like the guy. Not much power to speak of, but there's potential for a high-OBP SS who can steal some bags and score a ton of runs. His 15 games in AAA this year gave me a considerable boner.

Haha thanks! I need to do what you did and trade a pitcher for a power bat. My guys aren't hitting any home runs, even though four of them hit 30+ last year.

Alvarez could be made available. Send me an offer.

Posted
Dat 33% K-rate and 0.300 OBP

.513 SLG and 19 HR's! I'll take the 30 + HR's this season.

Mark Trumbo last time I checked was never a .OBP machine.

Also, Alvarez is capable of a Chris Davis breakout possibly in the next year or two. Not saying its a guarantee to happen, though its not out of the question. Both have tremendous raw power and high K rates/low BB rates.

Posted
.300 OBP isn't bad in the current run environment, it's merely a little below average.

Last season his .OBP was .317, so hopefully he can get it into the .330ish range which is possible and tolerable with the power output he provides.

Posted
Right. A lot of people still see a .330 OBP as average, but that isn't the case. These days if you're above .300 with some pop you're a great player. .317 is pretty good.

I'll take a 120 wRC+ regardless of what the OBP is.
