z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I finally picked, Boxy is on the clock.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Holy s***, maybe I'll actually pick today!
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Holy s***, maybe I'll actually pick today! It's kinda funny that I'll be making my last pick before you even make your first...
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Well that's a bit depressing, but I guess that's what I get for selling off my entire farm (minus Lord Byron Buxton).
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 (edited) Wondering if anyone is gonna take a gamble on Courtney Hawkins towards the end of this draft. The strikeout rate is disgustingly terrible, but the power isn't (.355 ISO!!!) and the age vs. level isn't either (19 in A+ is very solid). The K rate was way lower last year, so it's possible that he's working on something right now. lol, nvm he got drafted in February Edited June 12, 2013 by Laika I'm dumb
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 I have like, 9 or 10 guys on my board that I still really like. 4 more picks but don't pick again until R4. Every time my email gets a bump I say a little prayer to the ghost of the prospect version of Jesus Montero, asking that he spare my top targets.

Was defs thinking 'how to f*** did I not know he was unowned"
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Hawkins is owned, Yahoo has ISO Horny owning him. I was shocked to read NJH's comment too. One guy who isn't owned that I'm surprised about is Andrew Heaney, the #9 pick in the 2012 draft. Not a huge ceiling, but everyone thinks he profiles to be a good #3/4 type. And he was a top 10 pick just last year! Jesus man, STFU. Some of us havent picked yet.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 If we could just refrain from talking about undrafted prospects until the draft concludes, that would be a great use of common courtesy. I'm sitting on a list of guys I want and I really don't appreciate it getting cherrypicked because someone got alerted to a prospect they'd overlooked.

That Kevin Pillar kid is raking, I'm surprised he didn't go top 10! oops... my bad dinger
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 That Kevin Pillar kid is raking, I'm surprised he didn't go top 10! oops... my bad dinger Didnt Greenwood take him in the 1st round?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Holy f***, less than 25 picks until my first pick of the draft! s***, and I thought I was starting late.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I think I just traded for the Elvis Andrus of CFs.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I traded my 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Harvey and Andrus. I'm OK with it. I'm so jealous of Harvey... wanna trade him for Kohl Stewart, Nick Ciuffo, and however I draft next? That all works out right?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I'm so jealous of Harvey... wanna trade him for Kohl Stewart, Nick Ciuffo, and however I draft next? That all works out right? Me too Gibbers will rue the day he passed on Byron Buxton.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 I think I just traded for the Elvis Andrus of CFs. Basically. Almost identical career slashies. Bourn has more SB upside, but he's also way older and CF isn't even close to as scarce as SS.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Meh, Bourn is probably Juan Pierre going forward, I think in general he's an overrated fantasy player. Still, I needed a CF and SBs so he was a great fit. I've been harassing Sammy for awhile to get him.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Not even a ball to the face can stop my Puig! http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/yasiel-puig-gets-beaned-setting-off-two-bench-053152761.html

Still, I needed a CF and SBs so he was a great fit. I've been harassing Sammy for awhile to get him. I've been supremely disappointed with him in my other fantasy league. I hope he picks up the steals for both our sakes.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Hey feline arsehole, you think anymore about the deal we were discussing? Sent you a PM.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Not even a ball to the face can stop my Puig! http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/yasiel-puig-gets-beaned-setting-off-two-bench-053152761.html You gonna call up Bo Puig soon? Or are you leaving him in the minors until the super 2 cutoff?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Hey feline arsehole, you think anymore about the deal we were discussing? Ya, I think I may have to hold onto him for a little bit.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 You gonna call up Bo Puig soon? Or are you leaving him in the minors until the super 2 cutoff? I don't believe in leaving my prospects down until the super 2 cutoff just so I can save a little cash. He's being blocked by Victorino in the OF, and Howard at DH. So if someone wants to help poor Puig out and trade for one of those guys so that he has a spot to start, I'm sure Puig would be very grateful.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Have you thought about the email I sent on the weekend? Am definitely now willing to move the prospect you're interested in. The Iwakuma Sweepstakes are heating up!
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Have you thought about the email I sent on the weekend? Am definitely now willing to move the prospect you're interested in. Were you ever featured on the show "Hoarders"? Because you have a s*** ton of pitchers.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 The Iwakuma Sweepstakes are heating up! Yes, it is. I'm just waiting for you guys to believe he's for real. He was money in Japan, and great ever since the Mariners started starting him. He's over 30, but he's Asian and those guys stay healthy and live forever, just ask Boxy's great great grandparents.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Well guys I think it is finally time for me to sell high on JPA who has been out of the lineup for a long ass time lol. If anyone has some good used bats that have been sawed off that will be the going rate. The guy is a top 5 catcher.... at something. Whose in?!?
