It's hard for me to understand how a team with Toronto's core could be under .500. It seems like they have, on paper, a really strong top 4 forwards, a good goalie, two strong D. Is the rest of the roster that bad? Do players like Muzzin and Nylander just blow?

The Leafs are 15-8-3 when Andersen starts and 0-6-1 when they play a backup. It's insane to me that the team is flirting with letting an entire season to down in Flames because they can't acquire a capable NHL backup goalie.

It is realistic that the backup position will cost them the playoffs.

From what I've read it's more or less impossible to tell who will be a capable NHL goalie. Was riding with Garret Sparks or Michel Hutchinson an unreasonable decision? I doubt it

Hutchinson? Everyone already knows what he is in the NHL.

 

1 out of a possible 14 points from backup has seriously hurt the team. If the backup is able to go .500, they are 2nd in their division.

I don't think it was unreasonable at the time, but something should be done now that its not working out.

Babcock gave Kasimir Kaskisuo one start, they should give him a look, his AHL numbers are good. They really are up against the cap.
