jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Tampa wins it in a shootout. Book it.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Leafs déjà vu, lost last year in first round 4 games to 3 to the Habs. Does anyone remember this? Just wondering... that's all. Oh, and Habs will have Shane Wright so very productive last place this year!
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 What’s the ruling on Points chin strap being undone on the 3 goal? Just curious.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Complaining about a chinstrap being unbuckled is the most Leafs thing I’ve ever heard. s***ing the bed spectacularly in game 7 is a foregone conclusion.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Don't get me wrong, the NHL Playoffs are always entertaining and fun to watch, though it seems like every season the Stanley Cup is always played at the end of June/beginning of July lol, even before COVID. Like the NBA is almost in the third round and the NHL is still playing in the first. Granted I know the NHL Playoffs started a bit later and some games were disrupted because of COVID in December but still. Always seems like the NBA Finals are ahead of the Stanley Cup, and the NBA season always starts a couple of weeks later haha.

Yeah either two outcomes, Leafs s*** the bed completely and Tampa comes out blazing scoring 4 to 5 goals. Or you have a really close contest again like in Game 5 or 6 that goes into OT. Also, I think most pressure is on the Leafs. They know they need this win and playing in front of a home crowd.

Typically the NBA catches up to the NHL by the Finals, but this year they're further ahead because of the scheduled Winter Olympics break that the NHL had accounted for. Even though they didn't participate, the league used that time for a few of the Covid-decimated teams to play make-up games while most teams enjoyed a lengthy break.

The most pressure has been on the Leafs for years. I think they finally get the monkey off their back this year...but it's so close between these teams anything can happen. Campbell needs to be Grade A Campbell and their big boys need to show up. If both of those things happen they have a real good shot.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Washington bows out, they gave the Panthers a good run. Pens need Sid back for Sunday. Flames winning tonight would be nice, Lets Go!
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 So who wants to bet me on the Leafs game tonight? Can be for money, avatar, p5 tickets, your wife, whatever works.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 I still believe in two outcomes: 1) Tampa scores a couple of goals early and win in a blowout. Tampa needs to score 4 or 5 goals because the last two games, they were up 2-0 and couldn't hold the Leafs in check. 2) Close game that goes right down to the end of the game or OT (similar to Game 5 and 6) All the pressure is on the Leafs. They need this win badly especially after the last couple of years in the Playoffs. If they can't win this game, serious questions need to be asked. If you can't get past the first round with Matthews, Marner, Taveras, Nylander, etc., the organization needs to shake things up.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 This feels like the last chance for Toronto before a core piece is moved to change things up.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 This feels like the last chance for Toronto before a core piece is moved to change things up. How many years in a row with Matthews and Marner + their main core have the Leafs not won a playoff series? I understand when Matthews and Marner were rookies or second year players, but if they can't win a playoff series when both are in their prime, healthy and have a great roster on paper around them, then like you said something major needs to be done in the offseason. If the Leafs can't even win a first round matchup with their core, what makes people think they can ever win a Stanley Cup with this current group!
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Nerves are shot and the game don’t start for another 5.5 hours. FML TML
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Gooooo team Are you ready for Game 7, puck drop coming up... all home games have won, the Bruins in tough.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Spanky lets make a wager. If the Leafs win I will buy you a P5 entry and if Tampa wins you have to change your avatar to a half-naked Canadian soccer player of my choosing. (for 30 days) You down?
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 It seems like Crosby and Jarry are both a possibility for the Pens tomorrow.
