Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 It's not a made up narrative. The numbers are there. When you're hardcore you take everything to heart and watching your team implode on numerous occasions takes its toll. We can't all shrug things off like a casual fan can. Sure we can, can't change anything other than living miserable. I'm fine being the 4th best team this regular season, looking forward to the playoffs, etc... but none of us can change the result. s*** happens, pick up and move on, bro. You'll feel better. GO LEAFS GO... '22 Stanley Cup Champs!!!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 AM34 scores on a classic beastly shot, to surpass Rick Vaive! GO LEAFS GO!
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Leafs are playing great at the right time, except when Justin Holl is on the ice. Holy f***.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Leafs are playing great at the right time, except when Justin Holl is on the ice. Holy f***. I would've agreed with you 100% a few weeks ago. However, Holl was playing quite well with Brodie when they were paired up for those several games. I'm still not a huge Holl fan, but I'm not willing to let Muzzin off the hook completely for this. It's not like he's been lights out. Is his decline progressing faster than expected or does he just need the right partner to cover up his shortcomings where he didn't need it before. Personally, this is the D I'd be going with until injuries arise, or one or more of the pairings are exposed... Rielly - Lyubushkin Muzzin - Brodie Giordano - Liljegren #7 Sandin #8 Holl

Rielly - Lyubushkin Muzzin - Brodie Giordano - Liljegren #7 Sandin #8 Holl Sandin would be in the top 6, replacing Liljegren, if he was healthy. He's likely out for the season. As for Holl, he keeps making poor decisions with the puck, out of position, looks lost half the time. I don't think he can handle the speed of the NHL.

Just going with the hot pairing as of today.

Leafs will be able to have three pairings each with a high end offensive defensemen, Reilly, Sandin, Lily.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 f*** Matthews is doing something special right now! 60 here we come.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 f*** Matthews is doing something special right now! 60 here we come. He's En Fuego by'... 50 in his last 50, last to do that, Mario Lemieux.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 He's En Fuego by'... 50 in his last 50, last to do that, Mario Lemieux. So many people are saying it's not 50 in 50 as a gaslighting exercise. It's hilarious. The butthurt is exceptional

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 To them, 50 in 50 means the first 50 games of the season. They think people are cherry-picking the stat. Meh... still hasn't been done since Lemieux.

The record books do count it from the start of the season. I don't think anyone is saying change the rule... Matthews 50-in-50 won't count the same way as others do... But pretending he hasn't scored 50 goals (51) in his last 50 games is funny. The feat is the same, whether it happens in the first 50, last 50, or a 50 in the middle. They're so hell bent on trying to discount anything that a Leaf does. I'm gonna love watching Oilers Twitter implode when Matthews wins Hart.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 Auston MVP Matthews will hit 60 tonight
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I'm glad Keefe bitch-smacked the Leafs in the media last night, he's right, games like that are inexcusable.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 Freddy Andersen to go for an MRI on lower body injury, how's that for terrible timing for the Canes.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 Freddy Andersen to go for an MRI on lower body injury, how's that for terrible timing for the Canes. Wow. Seems like something that would happen to us. *♀️

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 The Penguins just lost Jarry long-term as well. Sucks! Wow... missed that.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 No Matthews?? Night off with minor injury, rest day, basically.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 I just want them to lock up home ice. Rest whoever needs it, but get that home ice. I don't really have preference who they play in round 1, but part of me would like it to be Boston. Want to slay that Dragon.
