Looks like I'll be picking a new favourite team again next year

 

Nah, they're a better team than say Montreal(T-3 in East), still real early. Only 6 points between a playoff team.

On social media "Leaf Nation" fans blame, Rielly lol. It's really not just anyone, it's their defensive/scheme, overall brainfarts every game.

 

Hard to watch, bud. Babs might be getting tuned out, something's gotta change in a hurry. As Burkie said a few days ago, a GM generally gets one coaching change, and Babs wasn't Dubas' guy, he's in the AHL.

Leafs are a mess. They lack character. I saw Jake Muzzin call them out today for not playing with enough heart and passion.

 

They need some good vets in the locker room.

 

Their give-a-s*** meter is at 0. Unacceptable.

 

Reminds me of when Anthopolous admitted he didnt think much of intangibles and then later realized how important they were.

 

They should get a guy like Kyle Clifford of the Los Angeles Kings.

 

Im not a big analytics guy when it comes to hockey, but seems like their offense is pretty bad this year. Too many shots from the point. Not enough coming from the slot area. Coach needs to do something different when it comes to that. All they have to do is revert their offensive game back to what it was last year. Shouldnt be that hard.

Aren't you a Leaf fan, I mean it f***ing sucks right, but there's 60 games to go, bro.

 

They've looked like s*** a quarter of the way through the season, and they would need to go on a ridiculous run just to remain in playoff contention. Until they fire the whole coaching staff, I have little hope in this boring ass team.

I love how every time a relatively young team struggles there is an immediate call for veteran presence. This is pretty much the same team that had 100 points last year. This team is young. They will have a s***** run (it might be all season long). It doesn't mean that you have to tear it down. Just enjoy watching the Islanders, Canes, Sabres and Panthers. They are also good young teams and probably will drive you a little less crazy.

I'm not criticizing the players themselves (although, they do deserve some blame for this slump). A lot of the metrics suggests that coaching is a major factor for their slump, especially when you compare the shot maps on offense this year to Hakstol's teams in years past. They're almost identical, and it's very concerning.
