P2F Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Gaudreau's penalty differential is crazy.Best in the league.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Who is better - Jonathan Drouin or David Pastrnak? Keep in mind how much line support Pastrnak gets right now compared to Drouin.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Who is better - Jonathan Drouin or David Pastrnak? Keep in mind how much line support Pastrnak gets right now compared to Drouin. That's a tough question, I didn't realize how young Pastrnak is, he's been around for years, they're starting to get the same amount of minutes with all the injuries in TB... I'd say Drouin by a smudge.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 When you try to project goalies SV% and properly regress to the mean, the SV% spread from top to bottom is only around .005. There really isn't a good way to evaluate goalies yet unless you have much better data than just shots and goals. HDSV% is that a real thing or something buddy from SN magazine made up?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 That was just silly... think it was better than that shift he had in the minors?
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 The Drouin + Stamkos first line and first PP combo playing 20 minutes each per game is going to be fun. I'm not really sure why Tampa Bay has been so reserved with Drouin's development. Seems like they have jerked him around needlessly, when he could have just been given a top 6 role at the start of last year.
Frag Verified Member Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 HDSV% is that a real thing or something buddy from SN magazine made up? HDSV% is the most predictive aspect of goaltending skill (outside of, maybe, rebound control), but even that is still not great.

Thanks, mate. I seen Smith, Reimer, Elliott, Crawford and Greiss were the top 5 in that category, when I read that article.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 When Bergeron, Marchand, Pastrnak, and Krug are on the ice together, their CF% is 70.5%. 273 CF and 114 CA. That's crazy. Just Bergeron and Marchand together is 62.1%. Marchand without Bergeron, Pastrnak, or Krug on the ice is 40.6% (though only 40 minutes of sample). Marchand without Bergeron and Pastrnak is 45.1% (71 minutes). Marchand without Bergeron is 52.4% (147 minutes). This is all 5v5.
