GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2015 Author Posted June 16, 2015 las vegas is gonna draft Strome 3rd overall probably. leaving the buds with Marner. excellent
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Yea for sure. Marner at 4 and if they end up making that trade with Jersey Hanifin may well be available at 6.
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 most of the talk involves Kessel and NJ's 6th overall pick.
labadee Verified Member Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Kessel for 6 would be gross. agreed. btw sick avatar
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 What's the rumoured NJ trade? I've heard Kadri+24 for Semen+4 from Carolina. That still seems kinda gross
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I would do Kessel for 6th and Henrique
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/how-a-baby-pic-stirred-up-maple-leafs-nation/ So a stupid baby pic got people riled up cause Bernier posted a pic of his baby at 9 months in a leafs onesie, then did it again at 10 months but without the leafs logo. People freaked as you'd figure, but then something else happened. Someone asked Bernier's girlfriend what was up, and she said "something I can't tell anyone right now! " Like why the f*** would you post something like that? moron
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 And you wonder why no one wants to play in Toronto...
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Brian Hedger @BrianHedger 6m6 minutes ago Heard from a good source who says Sharp will be traded next week. It's been expected, but that's still a big name to lose. #Blackhawks
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 1 more week. I'd love Hanifin, but I'm fine with Marner.
Frag Verified Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 This is closer to where I would rank Crouse.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Chris Johnston @reporterchris 4m4 minutes ago As we reported, the NHL has officially launched a formal expansion process. Chris Johnston @reporterchris 5m5 minutes ago Gary Bettman told the NHL board about interest from ownership groups from Las Vegas, Seattle and Quebec City. There's your big three.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Ugh. The last thing the NHL needs is more teams.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I hate that they're just replacing 4on4 with 5 minutes of 3on3. They should have done 5 minutes of 4on4 and then dropped down to 3on3 for another 5. Or, if the goal was the have less shootouts, get rid of the point system entirely. Wins and losses - no more points! The NHL is both progressive and stupid, sometimes.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Chris Johnston @reporterchris 4m4 minutes ago Gary Bettman says the #leafs have no territorial right to the Toronto market. "They do not. Expansion is decided by the league as a whole." Please do this. Somewhat affordable NHL hockey in the GTA would be nice...
Frag Verified Member Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Ugh. The last thing the NHL needs is more teams. The only team I see relocating within the next few years is the Coyotes (if the NHL will allow it). While I think relocating a few teams would be a better idea, the NHL obviously wants to pull its attention towards the long-term "benefits" that they think expansion will provide. Will it work? I don't think so, especially in the case with Las Vegas, but I can sort of understand why the NHL is taking this stance.

Laika Community Moderator Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 lol the prices still won't be affordable.. I bet they'd start off at like, half of what Leafs tickets are. The secondary market for Leafs tickets would also lose a decent amount of demand.
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 there probably won't be another team in toronto in the next 10 or 15 years but it could work. but expansion is f***ing dumb. 34 teams is way too much. move the coyotes, move the panthers. boom. too bad Bettman is too much of a f***ing idiot to know what's a good idea and what is a bad idea.
Molitor Verified Member Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Uhhhgg, if Toronto ever gets a second team, I am not looking forward to all the bandwagon jumpers who were supposed "Leaf fans" jumping ship and being all aggravating. It'll be like the Ottawa Senators all over again. Every Ottawa fan over the age of 35 was at one time a Leafs or Canadiens fan who jumped ship because they weren't a true fan. Go Leafs Go True Leaf Fans for Life© #TLFFL
