Leafs are a bit handcuffed. We have Kadri, Gardiner, and Bernier on their final years, all of whom will be RFA next year looking for pay raises. The only salary coming off the books is Colton Orr at 1 million. Spending to the cap would be detrimental to the future of the team. I suspect the leafs will be looking to dump salary some point this season.

 

Yeah that's a fair point. I suppose it's just the fact that they have put themselves in this position that frustrates me.

Team really needs to pick a direction. You either spend money and put a contender on the ice because there is some really nice pieces on that team. Or you rebuild and get some draft picks. That said, still a great signing.

Brian Murray is a POS. I hated him since that game a few years ago between the Sens/Habs when the Sens were taking bets on how many shots the Habs would get (mocking them in interviews after the game). Very classless.

The Ottawa Senators and center David Legwand have agreed to a two-year, $6 million contract, the team announced Friday.

He will make $2.5 million in 2014-15 and $3.5 million in 2015-16. His NHL salary-cap charge will be $3 million per season.
