Polak for Gunnarsson and Leafs 94. LOL Leafs.

Lol, why? Literally no point to that trade.

Looking at possession numbers, Polak seems slightly better. Also, smaller cap hit by a touch. Giving up the 94th was stupid but eh.

Also, vetrin presents, and for some reason I just never liked Carl Gunnarsson. No idea why.

Leafs have an offer on the table for Josh Gorges. They need him to waive his modified NTC.

I mean, he's a good player, but... why? We just said we wanted to give Reilly and Gardiner bigger roles. But eh, always good to push guys down the depth chart, maybe it's precursing a Phaneuf trade, and he's a good player.

Coming off of a bad possession year but positive Corsi rel QoC. On the ice for plenty of goals despite fewer OZ starts. He was a bit worse than his teammates though. Dunno what his contract is like. I don't know what Frag's dCorsi has to say about him. (this concludes the extent of my hockey stats knowledge.)

It'll be a roster playing coming back. Which is weird. Who would that even be? Another lateral move for a d-man? Reimer, for literally no reason? Nonis going full derp and sending a good forward?

Also, Leafs aren't going over 5/25 for Bolland. Thank god. Now hopefully someone offers him something dumn.

Before the Leafs traded for Polak they had a deal for Gorges and he didn't waive his NTC.

"Tim Gleason has been placed on unconditional waivers in intention of buying him out."

"I honestly feel Gleason was one of the few D's we had this season who consistently tried his best for the team. In my opinion, unless they can get someone with the right attitude, this could be a bad call"

Nick Kypreos says Florida is going to sign Bolland for 6-7 years at more than $5 million per. Dale Tallon is a f***ing idiot and the NHL is a stupid league.

Kulie is gone. It'll be fun watching him score 20.

Hopefully to the Penguins at a not-totally-egregious amount.

I'm still hoping that Nonis breaks out a 6/32 offer at the last minute.

I can't be the only who thinks that 5/25 for Bolland may go down in history as the worst contract ever given to a NHL player, let alone the 5/40 contract he's seeking.

Is that a little over-dramatic, or am I about right?

I don't even really understand where these numbers come from. I mean, at least Clarkson had the 30-goal season. All the evidence suggests that he's just an average 3rd-line type of guy who could maybe, possibly warrant like 3/9 or something. He can chip in 15 goals and 30 points a year with 15 minutes a night and decent linemates, but his possession stats aren't good, he's not a good defensive player, and he doesn't win faceoffs.

Way too overdramatic. I think Clarkson and Phaneuf's contracts are worse than that. LOL @ paying those two pylons a combined 13-14M for the next 6 years.

Ovechkin's deal will become an absolute disaster soon. He's still owed 6/60 and while he scored a bunch of goals last year.... he's still a selfish POS who fades when the bright lights come on.

Exactly!

At least with some of the more egregious contracts in recent memory (Holik, Clarkson, etc.), those players all came off of either immediate or recent good seasons. What the f*** has Dave Bolland EVER done to deserve anything even remotely close to $5/season at 5 (or 8, which he is supposedly demanding) years?

If the Leafs sign him to 5/25 or anywhere close to that, I think I might be done with this franchise - at least until Nonis is the f*** out of there.

The only other indefensible contract given out recently that I can recall that left me shaking my head was the one given to Ville Leino. And honestly, I'd take Leino over Bolland.

I'm sure this can't be the worst contract idea ever, but I'm failing to come up with a proper comparison.

You're probably right that I'm exaggerating this, but I disagree with comparing Bolland with those guys. All of those guys have done something worthwhile at some point or another. Bolland has not.

I like Lupul, would be interested to see the return though!

Judging by recent moves it would likely be a pure cap dump.

Ryan Miller to Vancouver could be first signing (E4)

"hearing it's pretty much done...update...Bob McKenzie reporting same."
