DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Reilly and Blacker is exactly whom I'm thinking of. Rielly will get at least 9 games. Blacker isn't a better option tyhan Holzer at this point, especially not as the guy in the press box. It looks like the LEafs are trying to send Liles down, I'm hoping someone picks him up.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Holzer, is f***ing s***. I'd take Blacker or Reilly all day. Hate to break the news but at this point Blacker is kind of s*** too. He's barely a top 4 guy in the AHL. Both of them could sit in the press box or on the very end of the bench and it would be fine but, it's a better role for Holzer as Blacker is still improving in the AHL.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 Joe Colborne traded to the Flames for a 4th. please be trolling
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 oh my f***ing god I hate you Nonis
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Joe Colborne traded to the Flames for a 4th. I don't like this trade but colborne was never going to be an impact player here.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Who the hell starts instead of colborne now? I hate having Mclaren and Orr playing, useless to have both
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 oh my f***ing god I hate you Nonis Colborne is kind of meh, but he would have been useful to have around in case of injuries. Either they waive him and lose him for nothing or trade him and get something. Needless to say, I'd rather have him than one of the facepunchers.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Who the hell starts instead of colborne now? I hate having Mclaren and Orr playing, useless to have both Ashton most likely. He pretty much earned it with his solid play during camp. I really like Josh Leivo though, but he needs at least one season in the AHL before he is ready.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Does this make McKegg our 13th guy?

Kadri (Awesome) Bozak (Yuck) Bolland (Somewhat yuck) McClement (Getting way too much praise than he deserves) McKegg? f***.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 So Ashton to the 3rd line for the first 10 games? lol This team still has no depth.. opening day Lupul-Bozak-Kessel JVR-Kadri-Raymond Kulemin-Bolland-Ashton ?-Mcclement-Orr Phaneuf-Gunnar Franson-Gardiner Fraser-Ranger Liles Bernier Reimer If healthy (which will never happen) Lupul-Bozak-Kessel JVR-Kadri-Clarkson Kulemin-Bolland-Raymond Mclaren/Ashton-Mcclement-Orr Phaneuf-Gunnar Franson-Gardiner Fraser-Ranger Liles Bernier Reimer

I still can't believe they bought out Grabo and kept Bozak lol.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I guess one of Bodie, Broll or Devane to start?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I give lupul 4 games before he gets hurt and then this team is screwed.. One or two injuries to our forwards and were toast

Tuco Verified Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 oh my f***ing god I hate you Nonis Colborne sucks. A 4th rounder seems pretty fair for whats looking to be a busted prospect.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 I guess one of Bodie, Broll or Devane to start? It's going to be Bodie. I know Broll's family though so I'm pulling for him. Colborne sucks. A 4th rounder seems pretty fair for whats looking to be a busted prospect. It's the asset management and lack of depth that bug me, not as much the actual trade. Don't get me wrong, I still don't like it all that much, but it's more about what's behind it.

Well what did you want them to do? They couldnt send him down to the marlies because hes out of options and would be exposed to waivers and he clearly didnt do enough to make the team. I'm sure in a perfect world they would have liked to keep him and send him back to the minors but that just wasnt viable. They dealt him off for what seems like a fair price for a older struggling prospect and they also shed like 600,000 off there cap. Just a MEH move all around. Nothing really to get all worked up about.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 Getting rid of a redundant face puncher to keep him might have been nice.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 I'm arguing with two Leafs fans because Leafs fans are dumn; -Nonis is a better GM than most other GMs -Mike Kostka could have been the next Shea Weber Downright sad. These are actual things they're saying.
Tuco Verified Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Getting rid of a redundant face puncher to keep him might have been nice. If Colborne had even a respectable training camp they might have but he was pretty brutal until last nights game. Just seems like a guy who really doesnt do one thing all that well and the worst part is he plays with almost no fire. If this was one of there better prospects I would have been more upset but I've never been high on Colborne.

NEPOTISM!!1 But seriously, I liked what I saw from Broll (far more than what I saw from Biggs or Devane). He showed something other facepunchers lack called skill.

Tuco Verified Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Still better than a talentless black hole... erm, I mean a goon. So you want to play Colborne 5 minutes a game similar to what Orr or McLaren got? Colborne is a center. He wasnt better then any of Kadri, Bozak, Bolland or McLement. Thus he either needed to be sent down (which he couldnt without being exposed to waivers, which he would have gotten claimed) or traded for a draft pick/prospect in which you could shed his 600,000 K. I dont see the big deal over this. Colborne pretty much sucked both in the AHL and when he was given oppurtunity with the big club and hes now 23 and doesnt look to be getting any better.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Paul Hendrick @HennyTweets 58s Congrats to both morgan rielly and carter ashton in making the opening night roster. #TMLtalk Rielly cracked the lineup.
