"I don't understand why they don't release me. I told them I wanted to be released because I have 30 days of not playing. I need to play." Of course, when the worst team in baseball can't find any playing time for you, it's probably time to hang 'em up.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Hahahaha aha Of course LOL Blanco with Jays: 7/38 with 0 homers and 0 RBI Blanco with Mariners: 1/4 with 1 homer and 4 RBI lol

Yup. He hasn't been able to find proper playing time with the freaking M's and Marlins in the past 3 years and he's complaining. The dude should be released, I'd be surprised if anyone gives him a spot of Miami is benching him

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Anthony Rendon hits his first Big League HR to win it for the Nats in the 9th. After going 3 for 5 tonight, he has a .370/.414/.519 line since his return from the minors. Beast!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 MLB.com: ANAHEIM -- Yankees manager Joe Girardi comes to the ballpark every day with the belief that his offense is going to break out of its funk. While Girardi held that belief entering Saturday's contest, he will have to wait at least one more day for it to come to fruition as the Yankees lost, 6-2, to the Angels at Angel Stadium. Not only did the Yankees lose their fifth straight game -- tying their longest losing streak of the season -- but their cleanup hitter and first baseman, Mark Teixeira, left the game in the middle of the fourth inning with an aggravated right wrist. Teixeira will not be with the team for the series finale on Sunday as he will travel to New York to be evaluated by team physician Christopher Ahmad. The switch-hitter is batting just .151 this season, but his loss would be tough on a lineup already missing Francisco Cervelli, Curtis Granderson, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and Kevin Youkilis.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 MLB.com: OAKLAND -- The Mariners didn't sign Henry Blanco for his bat. Nor did they bring him in for his play behind the plate. Seattle reached out to the 41-year-old journeyman to serve as a mentor to rookie catcher Mike Zunino and bring wisdom to the team gained through 16 years of Major League experience. He came to be a figure on the bench. His contributions would mostly come in the clubhouse, not through production on the field. Yet it was Blanco, playing in his first game as a Mariner after meeting the team in Oakland one day ago, who shined brightest Saturday in Seattle's 4-0 win against the A's. Seattle's backup catcher broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning with a grand slam that was more than enough for Felix Hernandez to improve to 8-4 after dealing his fourth scoreless outing of the season.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Just went through my transactions, I actually dropped Corey Kluber to pick up Porcello. Kluber has been fantastic over the past month too, and you ended up with Doubront (who I dropped for Lyles lol) as a result! When it happened, people were wondering why we were arguing so much about those two transactions... and it turns out we were right to: Kluber, Porcello, Doubront and Lyles have all been aces since! Kluber can K's guys a lot

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Davis with another bomb of Lester. what a stud Good Even if we're really chasing the Orioles, I'll cheer for them to beat the Red Sox every time.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I expect Boston to end up with around the same record as Baltimore, and Baltimore will only be 1.5 games behind if this score stands. So just them playing each other is a good thing. And I hate the Red Sox too, go O's. Do you think any team in the east is 20-games-over-.500 good? I get the feeling the division winner may end up between 10-15 games over.

kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Oh yeah But cheap azz owners are cheap azz owners... The main problem with the A,s getting a new stadium is the Giants blocking it in San Jose . San Jose used to be A,s territory but when the Giants built their new stadium the A,s gave them San Jose ( Not sure if money was involved ). Had the A,s not given up their territory rights they would have a new stadium by now . As for McAfee , and the raw sewage . It is a s*** park , just living up to it,s name
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Cobb was joking with teamates and said he only had a headache . released from hospital the Rays put him on only the 7 day DL . Wow , must figure he will be back soon ?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Yeah, looks like he'll just miss a start. Unbelievable. The true man of steel.......f*** you Happ lol
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Hah.....Happ hurt his knee when he buckled after getting drilled though. Exactly. It's the knee holding him back, not the head injury.

Really stinks too (literally and figuratively) because that's a really good team now and likely will stay that way for some time.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Not a serious setback considering the strong Tigers rotation, but concerning: Anibal Sanchez placed on 15-day DL with a right shoulder strain. They also lost their catcher as well: Alex Avila on 15-day DL with deep contusion in left forearm. SP Jose Alvarez and C Bryan Holaday have been recalled to replace them. Sanchez's injury is more a concern..especially considering his injury history.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Rangers plan to work Profar in left field Rangers manager Ron Washington said Monday that the club plans to make Jurickson Profar a "functional left fielder." While the Rangers were initially expected to send Profar down the minors upon Ian Kinsler's return, they now think they can manage to get him enough at-bats by adding the outfield to his resume. For what it's worth, Anthony Andro of FOX Sports Southwest speculates that he could be game-ready for left field within 7-10 days.
