lets be honest

if most of you regulars didn't get banned and all your +5k posts wiped, you'd still be there

 

I never got banned, was never interested in post counts (don't even know how high/low mine was) and I won't be going there even to see the chaos that might be happening currently. I just got tired of all that crap and really didn't have the time nor the energy to put up with it any more.

 

I am glad there is this place and I am hoping it can be kept relatively clean and friendly in order to build the membership base (including good baseball minds from other teams). I am also aware that the mentality (homerism , for want of a better word) displayed from time to time with certain members may cause such new members to walk away in disappointment. I know it was created with BlueJays fans in mind first however I think if other team fans can feel comfortable chatting about baseball (not trolling) here then this board will become a lot bigger and better. *Just throwing in my two-cents*

Is there a way to access this board through a numeric URL so that it doesn't get blocked? One of the great features of the old board was that it didn't get blocked at work. This one has a great URL but there's a downside to having "messageboard" right in there. I also kind of feel bad for the casual fans who will pop up on the old board now and not really have an opportunity to learn anything from the discussion. I will probably still post there from time to time.

If you could post a screen shot from work saying it's blocked, and send it to me, that would help some.

Has anyone tried using the tiny url site? It may bypass the firewall filter. I don't have that issue at work so I cannot test it.

Does that still happen after you use the "TinyURL" site at http://tinyurl.com?

 

In the "Enter a long url to make tiny" type in "http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/" without the quotation marks. For the Custom alias you can type in anything you want (e.g. bjmb-2013)

 

After it creates the tiny url just use the newly created url to see if it gets you there and let me know whether the same thing happened or not.

Yes. As I understand it, tiny URL is just a temporary redirect. Useful for shortening a URL for the purposes of Twitter but useless in this context.

Another option might be to try a proxy server. Here is one http://www.hidemyass.com

 

When that site opens type in your URL (http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com) and click on the "Hide MyAss!" button.

I bet AA was thinking even if the Dickey trade blows up in his face (which it looks like it's doing) and he gets fired after this year, worst case JP RIccardi will hire him in New York for being such a nice guy and trading away some of our top prospects for Dickey. He's really in a no lose situation.

I'm not sure if this is how to do it, but check the bottom left corner on your phone, I think you might be able to change to mobile skin of the site.
