He is a multi-inning reliever with a proclivity for striking out hitters, notching 87 punchouts in 61 2/3 innings pitched this past season in college. He did start 20 games at the NCAA level, which could mean that Toronto aims to give him another chance in the rotation, but his control issues (135 walks in 261 1/3 career innings) could keep him in the bullpen long-term.
