  1. The A's have a pretty solid offense. Our pitching was incredible all weekend save for a crappy inning where they got 3 infield hits and a bomb. I thought our line-up looks pretty solid and there's a lot of upside for the boys. Ernie being Ernie hasn't missed a beat so far. Kaz looked great, even Jesus had a very good series. This is a very good ball club and they beat a quality opponent, I think the A's will surprise some people.
  2. I did see him there a few times, he handles routine plays just fine. He's no Clement, but if they need him in for match-ups, he would seem to be passable.
  3. Cease was pretty impressive. Big velo going today. 70% K rate well above his norm. Said a tweak in his delivery is helping his location.
  4. What about the $922K signing bonus he got when he signed? He didn't exactly get peanuts, and I don't think he has to work as a Walmart greeter just to pay the off-season bills..
  5. I'm with you, Barger, Varsho, (possibly extended), Lukes, Santander, and Loperfido, who I think is going to be an above average outfielder. I think we have solid depth. If Varsho leaves, they deal with it. No point getting to revved up about maybes.
  6. I'm not gonna argue Jays 24 premise, although I agree with your rebuttal. The real point is that under the Bo scenario we'd be paying and extra $32M for 1 - 1.5 War, hardly a sensible investment in my opinion.
  7. We can agree to disagree, but fangraphs rates the Jays as the second highest projected war in the MLB, behind only the dodgers for 2026. Wanna argue that they aren't better than the 2025 team, bring some stats to back that up and we can discuss further.
  8. That is factually incorrect! We were 79-60 with Bo last year or .568 winning percentage. We were 15-8 without him or .652 wp. We went through he Yankees and Mariners in the play-offs without him so it's not like the team struggled mightily without him like you infer. Add in Okamoto, the potential return to normal for Santander, and hopeful progression of Barger, we still have a pretty formidable offense. Add in the the improved SP and BP, we're in good shape heading into 2026. Tucker would have been nice but I'll take a more complete Okamaoto at $15M and his projected 2 - 2.7 war over $47M Bo every day of the week.
  9. I think the Jays have enough to get Marte. Joey Loperfido, Arjun Nimmala, Gage Stanifer, Jo Jo Parker, Ricky Tiedeman, and RJ Schreck. I'd call that a pretty decent list.
  10. I agree!
  11. Lol! I don't think he'll be more unhappy collecting $50M than he would be pitching elsewhere for 10. And it isn't even April fools!
  12. Jays had the highest payroll in MLB in 92 and 93. They still went after pieces at the trade deadline. I think the current brain trust will go after a difference maker at the TD if the team is in position to make the playoffs and compete for the WS championship.
  13. It's really tough to pick between the two. Has anyone heard any updates on how Bo's knee is healing? That could be a factor in his FA. I like the lefty bat that Tucker provides.
  14. I get your rationale, but maybe Saurez preferred to go to Atlanta. Sometimes we don't get our man.
