  1. I'm living rent free in your head bud. Why do you worry so much about my baseball opinions? You think I'm trying to "fit in" here? That's laughable. You think you're insulting me by saying stuff like that? All you do is cherry pick stats to suit your argument, then when I point out how silly they are you just spin around and around in circles. Like how you argued that Kirk was as valuable as Vlad over the past 3 seasons but then act like you didn't. Think of the things you could accomplish if you weren't always writing essay replies to my posts. It's quite funny. Do you really think I care that much about your opinions?
  2. Will be interesting to revisit this in a few years. Methinks some people will have a different opinion on things by then.
  3. Yarb was very good for us last year. And he always is good against us. Wish he wasn't a Yankee now...
  4. I've never seen someone twist themselves over and over again into a pretzel contradicting themselves as much as you do max silver. You have way too much time on your hands if you are willing to spend so much of it trying to convince me to see things your way. It's not going to work, I'm not a sheep.
  5. So you're suggesting Kirk is 94% the player that Vlad is? Your use of stats is atrocious. I look forward to another 7 paragraph reply of gobbledegook.
  6. So Max, just curious - why am I not allowed to to have an opinion that this extension was offered too soon? Why do I have to share your ridiculous views?
  7. The mental gymnastics you guys do to try and justify everything Shatkins does is hilarious. In 2 years when you all do the usual 180 it'll be funny.
  8. Just curious what the rush was to get this done now? Wouldn't the same deal have been there to make a year from now? Or at the all star break this year? This could be like the Grichuk deal. I sure hope not, but he was still 2 years away from free agency with probably the worse body in MLB. I'd like to see another good year from him before handing out this much to a bad body catcher.
  9. Loved Shannon. Dude could just hit...didn't we trade him for Bobby Kielty? Wish we never dealt him...too bad his career was affected by injuries at the end.
  10. I agree he's not Soto, but he's not asking for Soto money. Somebody will pay him 500 million. If prefer it were the Blue Jays
  11. Why would he need to lower his sights? $500M isn’t as far-fetched as people think. He’s still just 25 (for 3 more days) has shown MVP potential and his elite exit velocity metrics show that his power is sustainable. Players who combine age, production, and upside like Vlad are rare — and teams pay a premium for that. If it's not the Jays then someone else will. Add in the fact that he’s durable (playing 150+ games in three straight seasons) and has already proven he can thrive in a major market, (while being THE FACE of the franchise) and you’re looking at someone who can anchor our lineup for a decade. With the way the market’s trending, $500M to extend for our franchise cornerstone isn’t unreasonable at all.
  12. Negotiation leaks are part of the process. Starting high and adjusting isn’t a sign of desperation — it’s just how things work. If Vlad’s camp is shifting from $585M rumors to $500M or potentially $450M, that’s not ‘going low,’ it’s being realistic. Flexibility in contract talks is smart business, not weakness
  13. Bottom line is Shatkins has botched the Vlad and Bo situation for years now. All of the blame lays on them. Can't blame the player for having a high asking price when they walk him straight to free agency
  14. Imagine claiming the team won 89+ games in 4 of 5 years when in fact they've won 89+ games just 3 out of the last 8 while finishing above 3rd in the division once in those 8 years. Imagine being impressed with a front office missing the playoffs 4 out of the last 8 years while running franchise record payrolls almost every year when nearly half the teams make the playoffs anyways. And imagine zero playoff wins in that same time frame. And then imagine that front office talks down to the average fan of the team while failing to deliver on their promises on "waves" of home grown talent after crapping on the previous guy who actually did the thing (win a division titles and turn them into a major market team again) And then imagine that same front office builds a team projected for 82 wins and a 38% chance of making the playoffs while running a 280 million dollar payroll, with an even bleaker looking future. Let's imagine a little bit more, imagine 90% of the fan base wants them gone and can't stand them, yet they still have jobs. The imagination is a wonderful thing. But I don't have to imagine because it's all actually happening.
