  1. Honest question because I don't know the answer to this or even where to look for the answer, but when was the last time a 45 FV prospect got DFA'd?
  2. The Jays DFA'd a 45 FV prospect, what else did you expect?
  3. Was this expected or no?
  4. Kiermaier batting 7th is more confusing to me than Varsho batting 5th, although I am a Varsho fan and believe he will bounce back this season.
  5. Yeah ur never getting an apology or a gift card, cheers (go f*** urself) Sherm
  6. Honestly I was kind of expecting it to be Pop. He wasn't even good in AAA last year, isn't a 45 FV prospect like Zulu, and his spring training measurables didn't even look good. However, better it's Zulu than someone like Danner or Little.
  7. Ah okay make sense. I'm pretty sure I know what you both use the lube for, but won't outright say it as the trigger finger has been quick with some of u mods for bans recently.
  8. You guys know Ross won't see this right? He won't love you any more than he does today for these valiant defense efforts.
  9. Vlad will be a non-tender candidate by season's end
  10. Montgomery to the DBacks 25M with a vesting player option for year 2
  11. If it were up to me I would probably DFA Pop or Parsons over any of Danner/Little/Zulu.
  12. Wes Parsons is likely making the team as the 2nd long man out of the pen alongside Mitch White.
  13. BNS on Jays Talk Plus said 1 of Pop/Little/Zulu/Danner is going to be the DFA to clear the additional 40 man spot needed for Vogelbach. My guess is either Pop or Little specifically. He also said no one is a 60-day IL candidate at the moment. Even when Blake Murphy followed up by asking about Manoah specifically in relation to a potential 60-day IL stint, BNS said that is not in the cards at the moment. Manoah either starts on 15-day IL or is optioned.
  14. Per Shi, seems like Romano and Swanson will both need IL stints to start the season after all. On the plus side looks like Gausman will be good to go though.
  15. I wanna make it clear where I stand on this Ohtani thing I am straight up rooting for the outcome that he's guilty of something that would get him punished, because f*** the Dodgers
  16. The team has maintained since getting Turner that the plan is for him to play the field 1-2 times a week (hopefully all at 3B), and presumably they are going to try and make it on as many days against RHP starters as possible so Vogelbach can start at DH on those days. The Jays barely use the 13th batter on the 26th man. Vogelbach is the 13th batter this season (soon to be replaced by Votto?), and this is the limited use they have planned for his role. In the past it's been Zimmer/Cam Eden types, guess they're going for something different this season.
  17. From Shi's article yesterday: I'm not sure what this blurb means exactly, but maybe it's what The DH was referring to?
  18. Vogelbach makes the team. Jays will have to clear another 40 man spot so they can add both Serven and Vogelbach. Think it could be a Brendon Little DFA considering the Jays optioned him yesterday and no one else.
  19. Yeah, something seems to be going on with Mayza but no one around the team is really talking about it much. I would say Little replaces Mayza if he needs an IL stint, but considering Jays will be starting the season with 11 healthy pitchers plus waiting on Gausman and Romano's minor injuries, more likely Pearson would get that spot and Cabrera is the only LH reliever to start.
  20. I doubt Pearson makes the opening day roster then, despite it being expected previously. SP: Berrios, Bassitt, Kikuchi, Francis, Gausman (INJ but no IL) RP: Green, Garcia, Richards, Mayza, Cabrera, White, YRod/Parsons, Romano (INJ but no IL) Unless the Jays don't end up carrying multiple long relief guys out of the pen (even though Schneider said they would), I don't see how Pearson starts the season on the roster anymore.
  21. This makes it seem like the Jays don't want to guarantee both Vogelbach and Votto, so they're asking Vogelbach to sign an advanced consent, meaning Lukes would make the team for now while they buy themselves a bit more time on the Vogelbach vs Votto decision.
  22. I guess Yariel changing the conversation means he could be the 2nd long man out of the pen instead of Wes Parsons?
