  1. Nothing to do with Pete Walker , the game strategy is decided for him based on the team's analytics.
  2. Yes he adjusted very quickly, I believe he threw over 50% sliders and change-ups in this game
  3. At least we have Green for the 8th/9th next season
  4. Not sure I'll have to check the video plus maybe he thought Soto was going home
  5. A little too aggressive there, oh well
  6. Boone benching Gleyber
  7. wtf while reviewing the box score I noticed he struck out 8 in a row
  8. ...crazy come back by Kikuchi. They're going to love him
  9. I was going to ask who is Fido, then it hit me. double, homer away from the cycle
  10. 1b Horwitz 3b Vlady they will save money
  11. it's been like that for a while, he's more about spinning the ball trying to make it move....etc
  12. Vlady knows his responsibilities on a deep double, like it.
  13. Kikuchi double hr k k b fly out down 2-0 He has a wicked change-up and slider that he was forced to use after the first 2 batters, looks like the Astros had him use strictly FB's to start....
  14. they will move him there 2 weeks before the start of the 2025 season, there is no plan.
  15. new respect for BA "As you would expect for the son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio, Cavan Biggio has a very intelligent approach to the game. His understanding of the game is arguably his best attribute, as his tools are modest. Biggio is an average runner and stole 14 bases in 14 tries during the regular season. Biggio, who has a plenty of pre-swing movement that he may need to tone down as a pro, has below-average power with an all-field approach that gives him a fringe-average hit tool. His advanced batting eye helped him walk in 21 percent of his plate appearances this season, helping him to post a .473 on-base percentage. Defensively, he's struggled with his reliability as a junior. His range is limited but he turns a good double play." So accurate
  16. oh right I didn't see the " right before that sentence. Shouldn't be using that to describe him, both Fangraphs and BA (updated rankings) mention him as a "super utility" player
  17. No issue it's typical Atkins speak. Just give a propper and honest assessment, fans will appreciate that.
  18. nobdy is saying he should do this
  19. and this. judge and dj are are the exceptions
  20. who says we can even compete with other teams oince these players hit FA? we end up overpaying anyway - eg springer, gausman. Should have overpayed a couple of years ago bought out the arb years and extend
  21. not again... "upside is tantalizing" Why does he have to use language like this?
  22. Too bad how Brent Honeywell Jr.'s career turned out. I remember watching him dominate in the futures game in 2017 and he looked like an absolute stud - Greg Maddux type control. Injuries got he best of him unfortunately and he was never the same, bounced around from team to team he's now pitching in relief for Dodgers.
  23. Kikuchi starting Friday vs the Rays
  24. it's probably what the "line-up optimizer" spits out. Lefty bat 2nd given who is batting leadoff and 3rd....
  25. Vlady might be at 3 war today - what a run
