    It’s going to be the funniest s*** ever when all of Vlad’s die hard supporters turn on him after he’s non tendered, while acting like they knew Vlad was mediocre all along. I remember quite a few twitter heads calling people ridiculous for suggesting Montoyo would be fired and then acting like it was the obvious choice all along after it happened.

    Yeah Vlad has underperformed his projections 4/5 years, probably due to a hole in the xwOBA formula that over values his scorched ground balls or whatever.

    We simply don’t have enough information to speculate on this. For all we know, Vlad’s doctor forbade him from lifting the ball. We cannot know for sure so it’s best we give the front office the benefit of the doubt on this one

    This is sound logic. No one is denying that they have limited information. However, I think the conflict between groups of people on this board stems from how much faith the organization is given. Brownie gives the organization 110% faith. He is the equivalent of a devout religious follower. The front office always has more information, therefore there is no point in questioning their actions - in his view, the best action was always taken, given the information available.If he were a White Sox (or…. Red Sox 🤔 ) fan, the front office would still be given the benefit of the doubt on every move, as they always have more information. Other members also acknowledge this fog of war, while also admitting humans make mistakes. Or they just actually like discussing baseball on a baseball forum beyond the obvious “go team, go!!”

    You should write a paper on this subject and become published. Seriously thought, we saw this same phenomenon with Kendrys Morales.

    It would have went well if they return was right (i.e. not trading him for 3 Varshos). Market it as subtracting an immature and inconsistent goober and adding multiple MLB starters with all star likelihood. The Rays would have done it. If you’re winning the fans have a short memory.

    Nobody would have traded Vlad after 2021 but after his failure to repeat in 2022 you have to entertain the idea.
