  1. Next 9 games are going to be tough (LAD, Chi, Tex). As a realistic fan, what is an outcome that we should feel comfortable and happy with? 5-4?? This seems pretty realistic and I think I would be pretty happy with it. Am I selling the Jays short or am I drinking too much of the kool-aid?? What should we as fans realistically be hoping for during this tough 9 game stretch?
  2. Yankees lose again to the Marlins 0-2! :)
  3. Definitely helps with the healing process after the loss to the Royals. :)
  4. All that really matters is performance. If he does the job he is supposed to do and it helps the Jays advance, it doesn't really matter what was given up or who the Yankees got instead. The verdict is still out on this one and will be for a little bit.
  5. don't worry, I've been told by some on a few message boards that getting Varsho and Santander back is the equivalent of getting two studs at the trade deadline and a huge influx of awesomeness. Just make sure to nevermind the fact that when those two guys were in the lineup, the team was under 500 and stinking up the joint and as soon as they left, went on a tear of wins
  6. Hope the Jays add one more GOOD bat and not just A bat.
  7. Understatement of the year here, but that was a needed victory to get back on track. Now let's get healthy and let's get cookin' again! Can't wait to see who our new additions are going to be as well. Exciting times ahead!
  8. Losing sucks of course, but....... Time to start another streak. Take the L and move on.
  9. Looks like Kirk is out for at least 7 days with a concussion from yesterday's game. Hopefully Heineman can keep the train rolling in his absence.
  10. My gosh this is fun! Keep the foot on the gas Jays and keep the momentum going. A pair of good deadline trades could take this team to the freaking moon!!!!
  11. Suarez seems to be the big name target out there for teams at the deadline. Not a lot of talk about the Jays pursuing him, but should they?? Defensively, he may be a liability, but having that bat in the middle of the lineup would be pretty nice, especially with Santander being tough to rely on. Any chance the Jays get involved? I was really hoping the Rangers would tank so DeGrom might be in play so that looks unlikely. I hear a lot about Keller from the Pirates being a possibility. Is he much better than the starters already on the roster? Not sure. Hopefully, there is a good bullpen pickup at the deadline. I remember the days of Duane Ward and Tom Henke. It's nice to have two good closers!
  12. Nice win!!! This is a fun team to watch. Can't wait to see how we do on the road. I'm an oddball Jays fan living in Oregon with no connection to Toronto or Canada or anything. I just picked the Jays back in 1978 for some reason. Lol! All the Mariners fans and others in this area like to make fun of me when I'm wearing my Jays hats everywhere, but for some reason, they are strangely quiet right now. :) Good times!
  13. Losing this game really sucks, but only because we are so used to winning all the time now, and that is awesome!!! Let's just go out and win the series tomorrow and get right back on winning side of things.
  14. If I remember correctly, there was a time when Duane Ward and Tom Henke formed a pretty good closer duo. I wouldn't mind having 2 dominant ones as we enter the final stretch after the deadline.
  15. Pretenders or Contenders?? Is this really happening? Is it for real??? We are about to find out right now with the Yankees and Tigers series. Let's put those doubters and naysayers in their place and shut them up. This team is for real right now and will also do what it takes to make the team even better at the deadline. Good times!
  16. He is a beast for sure! His school is my son's rival school, so my son went against Kruz many times. He's a great pitcher but he is also a fantastic hitter and first baseman as well. Can't teach size. At 6'8" he is intimidating on the mound for sure. Good pick by the Padres.
  17. At least we had guys in scoring position and had a chance but just could 't get them in. Losing to a team like the A's sucks but just finish the series strong please!! Go Cubs!
  18. Down go the Yanks!!! Let's get a win tonight and get more separation before the break!
  19. Looks like Kirk, Clement and Springer are out of the lineup today for a rest day. Hopefully the offense can get going early and often!! Go Jays!
  20. That would be a beautiful thing for sure! Even great teams slip on a banana peel now and again and drop games to horrible teams. Hopefully this team can stay focused and beat these teams they are supposed to beat heading into the break. It sure is a fun team to watch right now.
  21. I think he's just bluffing. He still wants Bregman but wants Bregman to hurry up and make a decision. The only way to do that is to make him think the Jays are moving on. At least that's my hope! :)
  22. Seems like the Jays are always just used for leverage, it's getting old. I will be happy when Bregman breaks the vicious cycle. :)
