  1. That's why that World Series loss hurts so much. May not get back there for a while. But you never know....
  2. Nice to see him start the two out rally started and be such a big part of the win! Go Jays!
  3. Man Kiner sucks!!!! Oops...... Sorry,...... just a habit. :)
  4. Straw should never hit. He can't hit. He can pinch run or be a defensive replacement but if the game doesn't end right then and there, the team has just totally screwed themselves on the hitting side of things. We all saw that play out multiple times last year. Some people just love Straw. I just can't see why. It's all good until the big moments of the playoffs come and then it's a self inflicted catastrophe.
  5. Hoping this turns out to be one of those so called "sneaky good pickups" that we have seen through the years. Houston may have given up on him too soon and a change of scenery could be all that was needed. We will see!!
  6. Any Free Agents out there still worth looking at given the Santander news?
  7. For the Dodgers, it's like going into the trophy shop and buying the biggest trophy that they have and then showing it off as if you actually accomplished something and should be admired.
  8. I hate those bastards!
  9. I'm still holding out hope for Tucker AND Bo. Don't crush my dreams yet please. Just let it play out and I can be disappointed later.
  10. That taste of the World Series has put everything on the table. This team may be outspent but it won't be by much and they won't be afraid to spend whatever it takes to try and get back to the WS and win it. It's a good time to be a fan!
  11. If they like him, I like him!! If it's their money and not my own, I like him! If this doesn't prevent the team from going after more studs, I like him!! Good pickup tonight. This was just a sparkler. Maybe the big fireworks will be this weekend!
  12. I'm ok with those 3 as trade chips. I wanna keep the others and run it back unless they are part of some monumentally awesome trade that lands some certain 2B from Arizona or something...
  13. Is it ok to be sentimental as a fan? I find myself cringing every time I see someone mentioning getting rid of or benching a Barger or Clement etc. even in trades that might net us something great. Maybe it's not exactly THE best scenario for the team going forward, but I want those guys in the lineup after what we all experienced with them last year and what they gave the team. I wanna run it back, but I wanna run it back with the same group and a few key additions. Am I crazy, not a good fan, or not the only one?
  14. Forget about the Santa Tracker this Christmas! It time for the Tucker Tracker.
  15. I still want Bo AND Tucker. Is that completely off the table or is my pipe dream still alive, dead or on life support?? :)
  16. Ii don't think Smith is gonna throw that ball down to third with the World Series on the line. I don't care how good he is or how many times they did it in the regular season. The other thing you need to protect against is the line drive to short or third in that instance. Considering Varsho was up, the chances of that happening were slim. I think the only thing the short lead was helping to prevent was maybe the line drive hit right back to pitcher. At that point, the percentages have to be small enough that you risk a bigger lead because of all the positive things that could happen for doing so. I'm sure I'm way off and I'm gonna get skewered for this take, but it is what it is,
  17. Has anyone started tracking planes yet?? I want Tucker but I want Tucker AND Bo!
  18. I will be pretty disappointed if the Jays don't swing for the fences this offseason. I just can't believe there will be much of a "budget" when they just tasted what it's like to get to the World Series and what it's like to have the whole country fired up and getting free agents interested in Toronto's great team culture. The time is now. The time is now to stay on top. Falling back to the pack is not an option. Capture the momentum now and ride the wave! Spend that $$$$
  19. The culture of this team is amazing. The players play for one another and genuinely seem to like one another. Seems like a true team that other teams are envious of, I would say that the head coach is largely responsible for the culture of the team. He definitely deserves an extension.
  20. Can't really answer that until next season is over .... :) In all seriousness, I think it could be worth it to make a run next year, but I can't imagine the front office doing it without a longer term deal in play,
  21. Without a doubt. You gotta discuss it. Who knows if Smith was prepared to actually throw it and not just talk about it. World Series was ACTUALLY on the line. I don't care how many times they did it in the past. That kind of situation and pressure is a whole different animal. I guess we will never know.
  22. I'm just wondering what the time frame will be for Bo's negotiations. Is it wishful thinking to think that it could be over soon? What are the expectations for the timing of it all?
  23. That would definitely be a risky proposition for the catcher. Would hate to make a crappy throw and lose the World Series because of it. That had to be running through his head as well, no matter how good he is.
  24. Straw plays good D and is a good base runner but if you use him to replace a starter at the end of a game, you better win the dang game because he offers absolutely nothing with his bat.,
