Smoltz suggesed the Yankees just try and not bother with the splitter and see if he will throw strikes, and thats what they tried last couple of batters

What were the Yankees thinking surrounding Judge with lefties. Just keep walking Judge lol, these guys have no chance against that splitter.

Interesting that the Yankees went with their lefty line up. Yesavage had reverse splits in the minors as well as through his first 3 starts, mainly because of his splitter.

Boone is dumb and stubborn. I feel like being criticized for pulling Fried when he did will make him double down on it

This particular lineup at least gets a very strong defense out there for Yesavage

The great thing is that even though Hoffman, Gimenez, and Santander have been disappointments, if they help fuel a World series run none of that matters.

I liked Smoltz, I like his commentary from the pitching perspective. I was mostly talking about the pre-game crew of Jeter, Ortiz, and them.

I'd let Hoffman pitch, he has struggled with long layoffs before. It's not like Hoffman is a secret to the Yanks. There really is only one secret between these two clubs, and he pitches tomorrow.
