  1. The runner isn't out in that situation unless the Jays tag 3rd as an appeal. Similar to the Runner missing 1st base a month ago, the Jays had to appeal. The umpire didn't say anything until the appeal because until the Jays appeal the runner is still safe. Might be dumb, but that's the way it is.
  2. Michael Dominguez 6 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 walks, 8 K's so far tonight for Dunedin
  3. Silly Jonn. Gurriel is only hot because he knows how to hit in the 7 hole. Anywhere else in the lineup and he would basically have to relearn how to hit from scratch.
  4. He throws better on the run than when he plants his feet for some strange reason. It's weird. So much so that he often just throws off balance even when he has tonnes of time. But sometimes he plants his feet and who knows where it's going.
  5. Agreed. Vladdy is a way better player now than he was to start the season. He has 102 RBI's right now, when the season started he didn't have any.
  6. Danny Jansen has a wRC+ of 103. Above average hitter Danny Jansen.
  7. He's going to win the MLB Manager of the year this year and then win the AAA Manager of the year next year.
  8. Considering they haven't had any recent days off I'm going to go with no? Unless you want someone going on 3 days rest for the first time all season. Perhaps if they planned it in advance but with 2 series before this one against the A's and Yankees and the next series against the Rays I would assume any pre-planning the order would have seen those games been more of a factor.
  9. Have had my eye on this for a while. People tend to put way too much stock into April numbers because they're the most visible small sample and then mask the hot streak as it pulls the numbers back into the ok or good range causing the numbers to look in the bad to average range the entire year. Now 110 PA isn't a large sample either with his injuries since then, but people love to s*** on Jansen for some reason. He's at worst a league average catcher and I think he's got potential to be quite a bit better than that too. He's not the 141 wRC+ catcher he's been since May either but his BABIP is much more reasonable(.295) in that stretch than his career which always seems to be hovering around the low .200's for reasons I still don't quite get
  10. Dickerson would have hit a leadoff homerun too. He just needed 1 or 2 or 45 more tries.
  11. This. It even fits with Montoyo's stupid don't mess with what's working mantra. Bo has been pretty bad since the beginning of August so moving him to a new spot isn't going to mess with a hot streak he's having. And I'd rather have cold Bo Bichette leading off than going full Ned Yost and putting your worst hitter there.
  12. Only 11 games back of the Rays with 6 games left against them
  13. Once we reach 24 wins are you going to continue into the negatives? Seems to be working, you couldn't risk changing it
  14. Ray. Feels like they're going to sign 1 starter and 1 infielder regardless, but the rotation feels like the bigger need, and I'm liking a lot of the plethora of infield options. Ray was also quick to resign here because of Walker in the offseason while Semien seemed more like a find a spot to show what I can do and get paid strategy. While I'm sure Ray will be after the most money as well, feels like he might be more likely to prioritize Toronto too if the money is close.
  15. One of my favorite pitchers down in the lower minors Michael Dominguez had a solid outing today for Dunedin, his 5th since being promoted from the FCL. 5 IP, 9 K's, 1 BB, 3 hits, 1 ER. Just turned 21, had a solid K and BB rates 2 years ago in the GCL and early this year in the FCL. Struggled a couple times in his debut in Dunedin but good to see him getting back on track
  16. Time for Semien to be the 1st player in MLB history to hit 2 walkoff homeruns in a domed stadium in the same day.
  17. Has anyone hit 2 walkoff homeruns in the same day? Semien might
  18. Well that's what they're going with so either they're actually blind, or they know the fair call would be obstruction but since they can't call that on review they're calling safe anyway and hoping everyone else is blind.
  19. I'm betting that because obstruction isn't a reviewable call but should have been the call that the corrupt review personnel decided they were going to make the call safe and claim there was no clear evidence that Gurriel touched 1st
  20. Berrios is already on the 40 man isn't he? There was the whole DFAing Chatwood for him that had everyone happy IIRC.
  21. Neither can Kelenic. Guess we'll just have to accept that both of them are busts and move on.
  22. 80% of SS prospects are expected to eventually move to 3rd or 2nd because they can't stick at SS, and then they come up and stick at SS. I don't trust future position evaluations very much.
  23. Raised his OPS 90 points over the last 2 games. 230 at bats into the season that feels impossible but when you hit a HR every other at bat.
