  1. I was thinking about this with Moreno the other day actually. Not sure when he last played SS but when he was signed he was primarily a SS that the Jays shifted to Catcher. If he's the best of the bunch preferably you'd want that bat at catcher as it's generally the weakest hitting position but if he could be passable at 3rd you could reasonably roster all 3 of Jansen/Kirk/Moreno and get Kirk time at DH and Moreno time at 3B and reasonably get 2 of the 3 in the lineup every day. Moreno could get 130 games, Kirk 110, and Jansen 84. Quite strange to be thinking about how to get all your catchers bats into the lineup when often times it's the black hole in the 9 spot but pie in the sky scenarios the Jays could be unbeliveable deep back there. I don't think they'd go that route. Catcher/3B would be a weird combo of positions to play and ideally you want a guy to fully work on the catching position rather than distracting him with trying to figure out 3rd base, but something that could be possible down the line I suppose.
  2. I'd be completely fine with rostering all of Jansen/Moreno/Kirk in the big leagues next year. Getting Kirk a bunch of at bats at DH in the process. If someone is willing to pay full value for Jansen then that's something I'd be willing to explore and run Kirk/Moreno, but I'd rather not trade either of those 2 guys before they get a chance to stick at the majors, and I'd rather not sell low on Jansen either. Adams meanwhile I'm fine leaving him in AAA for another year or 2. Obviously not ideal, but when you're deep like this the high end guys get priority when they're ready. Adams feels like eventual trade bait after just not having room but it gives you time to find a perfect trade fit for someone else if you want to go that route and he can then be a fine backup at the MLB level.
  3. Maese 2 IP, 0 hits, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 unearned run. 32 pitches, 17 strikes Also someone from Dunedin's magically bad staff got promoted to Vancouver. So that Dunedin staff got worse today
  4. Maese 2 IP today, 4 K's, 2 hits, 1 walk, no runs Kloff went 3 IP, with 5 K's, 2 BB 1 hit
  5. Kendall Williams about to make his first apperance in the Dodgers minor league system with their low A affiliate. We'll see how that goes, he's a long way away yet.
  6. Dunedin's pitching is doing so badly it's kind of impressive. 50 runs against now in 28 innings pitched. Monsion has been the only semi-decent guy they've thrown out there. Robberse is on that roster but hasn't pitched yet. edit: 65 runs against in 32 innings now. Over 2 runs per inning. Amazing.
  7. Orelvis with his first HR tonight for Dunedin as well
  8. 8 K's through 4 for Manoah, 3 hit batters, 1 single. Keep an eye out for Rafael Monsion in Dunedin as well. Had a great 2019 in the GCL. Gets his first apperance with Dunedin tonight, brought in mid inning with a runner on and despite his defense immediately making an error he strikes out 3 in a row and has now gone 2 innings with 4 K's and no hits
  9. I'm liking this Danny Jackson guy we have catching. We should have signed him to take over from Jansen sooner. (Both Buck and Tabler have called him that in recent games including today)
  10. Hi Randal, this is Randal. No one cares, work harder
  11. Justin Maese's first inning of baseball in a full season league in 4 years comes out of the pen with Vancouver last night. Little wild with 16 pitches and only 6 strikes. Didn't give up any hits, 1 walk and 1 strikeout. Apparently was hitting 95 per someone on twitter who may or may not be in the know.
  12. Kloffenstein promoted from Low A Vancouver to High A Vancouver. That won't ever not sound weird. A bunch of the 2nd day of the Jays 2019 draft class did the same. I count 11 guys on the 2019 Vancouver roster on the opening day roster today.
  13. Justin Maese listed on the Vancouver roster. Hoping he can stay healthy, used to have a lot of potential. Outside of the highest level prospects I'm interested to see Robberse with Dunedin and Zac Britton as a catcher apparently. Also surprised they're apparently going to be using Joey Murray out of the pen in Buffalo(Ben Wagner doesn't have him listed on his reported 5 man rotation). Perhaps preparing him for an eventual call up where he's far more likely to see time out of the Jays pen. Surprised not to see Leonardo Jimenez, Dasan Brown, Frasso or Palmer anwhere.
  14. Partial rosters are up on milb.com. Trust it if you will. For example Groshans is one of the names up for New Hampshire, but Martin is not. Only 23 names so far https://www.milb.com/new-hampshire/roster
  15. Sleeper: Michael Dominguez Bust: Miguel Hiraldo Legit: Justin Maese
