  1. To be fair, I've seen Biggio soft toss from 3b whenever he was there this season. He doesnt feel comfortable throwing the ball from there.
  2. Good first inning. Lets get the bats going!!
  3. Biggio throws the ball so weak from 3rd man. Gun the damn ball!!
  4. Not saying your claim doesn't have data supporting it from a high level, I'd just rather have my best hitters get as many At Bats as possible. I'd also like to ensure my number 2 hitter gets as many good pitches to hit as possible too. That doesnt happen if your number 3 hitter isn't good. We wouldn't want teams to pitch around Bo. Not sure how that gets quantified by statistics.
  5. I saw this before and ignored it because I thought it was sarcasm. There is no way you can say batting 3rd is less important than batting 4th/5th lol. If your top 2 hitters are good, you shouldn't be coming up with no one on and 2 outs. And this would only be the situation once to start the game.
  6. Lol ya, there's one guy on the team Kirk wont catch for sure and thats Ryu. So id expect him on the bench tomorrow unless he goes off today.
  7. Unless Kirk rakes today, id expect Tellez as the DH tomorrow, and probably pinch hit late in the game today.
  8. Thats fair. Maybe I would have put Shaw at 1B and have Vladdy DH even though Vladdy has been playing better there as of late. Just dont want to lose this game because of any mental errors or defensive situations we could have avoided. Ah well, let's see how it goes. Should be a fun one!
  9. I can't believe we'd move our best hitter this year to the 6th spot. I would have put Kirk at Catcher and Shaw at DH even if we're going against a Lefty.
  10. I would move Tellez down as much as possible since it will be his first game in a while. Cant expect him to rake right away. Biggio Bo Teo Gurriel Vladdy Grichuk Tellez Kirk Villar But knowing how Montoyo likes to space out his lefties and rightness, id expect Tellez 6th, Grichuk 7th, Villar 8th and Kirk 9th.
  11. If Tellez is ready to go, do we start him at DH even without getting any at bats? What about for Game 2 when Jansen is behind the plate, does Kirk start over Tellez?
  12. Don't wanna get too much into the "next series" but you never know how many pitches Ryu would throw in game 1. Pitching in game 5 would only require 1 less day of rest compared to the usual. I doubt teams will use a 5 man rotation for the Divisional series.
  13. I believe the next round is a best out of 5. If that is the case then we NEED Ryu to start game 1 so he could start game 5 as well. I think there's a big layoff after the wild card round to get into the bubble so maybe Ryu will be able to pitch twice in that series if required.
  14. I don't know how I feel about the rotation. I dont mind Ryu in game 2 since he should be able to pitch in Game 1 of the next series if we make it that far. My only issue is using Shoemaker over Walker. Mainly because Shoemaker will require us to use an uncertain Ray with him. Walker has been pretty damn good this year.
  15. Wow, those games are actually at a much better time slot than I expected. Clearly must be the worst timeslot for ratings but ill take it lol.
  16. Heck, they might put us at 9 am on Wednesday with there being 8 games that day lol.
  17. Not that i like Roark but to be fair to him, he should already be out of this inning...
  18. I'm late to the party but that Davis catch was one of the best I've seen. Comes 2nd after the Pillar Spiderman catch to rob a homerun at the rogers center.
  19. Yankees lost so things are getting pretty interesting...
  20. Whoever finishes 2nd in the Central Division
  21. I was curious if we even want the 5th seed. Theres no real advantage of being 5th vs 8th except for the opponent. We still get the same opponents matched up in the next round in a neutral site. I haven't seen the central play at all this year. Tampa does not scare me even if they're a better team. In a best of 3, anything can happen.
  22. Not sure if this has been brought up but would people rather play the Rays or White Sox? I haven't watched much of the White Sox so hard for me to comment. We are still going to play the same set of teams in round 2 and there isn't really much of an advantage otherwise.
  23. Think its a good decision to rest up and not over extend anyone. Just build some guys up and try out some things in case of an emergency.
  24. Agreed but clearly we're in the "rest our guys" mode to make sure they're all healthy before the playoffs.
  25. Cant say we never gave Villar a real shot with the club lol
