  1. It was meant to show I wasn't super serious with my arguments. Its not something I believed to be a certainty and was open to be better informed. I am a basketball guy who rarely gets to talk baseball (just joined a month ago) so its good to get some fight back on these topics "lol"
  2. If that was the case then we probably should have traded Donaldson and others who still has good value while we could. Forgot the player we could have gotten from the Cardinals so clearly we werent trying to rebuild. Instead we lost almost every player at their lowest values. Add those potential assets to this team and we could actually have been further along in our rebuilding process.
  3. I'll agree that you guys have pointed out flaws in my statement. Glad you guys have cause i was secretly blaming Shatkins for a lot of it lol.
  4. Agreed, it was on bad terms with the fan base who cared about Eddy and thought we'd actually try to bring him back. Just glad we cut that bridge so we could get Morales lol.
  5. Actually Shatkins misread the market badly too. Hope you remember us running to sign Morales asap. We all know how that signing worked out for us. Glad they didnt want to wait around for one of the best blue jays hitters of all time just so we could grab the all mighty Morales lol.
  6. Oh i realize that's exactly what happened. Edwins agent screwed up by misjudging the market BUT so did we. We didn't want to wait around for one of our best players because we HAD to sign Kendrys f***ing Morales. The guy who we wanted to get rid of right away lol.
  7. https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/donaldson-blue-jays-exit-im-going-take-high-road/ A lot of his comments around the time he left were clearly mentioning he was not fond of the way things ended lol.
  8. I think we're talking about different things here. I'm talking about Jose, Donaldson lol. I started off my whole rant saying "I don't know the details of Hentgen, Quantrill and Huckaby but i hope it doesn't follow the trend of guys leaving on bad terms."
  9. Haha no man. You have to agree that the fallout of the 2015/2016 team was not ideal. People get traded and let go all the time and yet only our guys left with a bad taste in their mouths. Not all but the ones I cared about. Add prioritizing s***** Morales over Edwin too lol.
  10. I'm not saying we should have kept anyone. I just didn't like how bad the breakoffs were with players who meant a lot to the organization. And i agree I have very little information. I'm guessing Shatkins coming in and wanting to go in a different direction from what the 2015/2016 teams ended up being just got everyone off on the wrong foot. What we saw was just the fallout of all that.
  11. Fair point. I just loved Donaldson and Jose too much. They deserved to have the egos they did. Doesnt mean id want to pay them long term but hoped they could have had better farewells. Dont care much about Stroman because he seems too dramatic for his skillset lol.
  12. I didnt blame Shatkins. It could have been something that happened prior to them. There must have been people within our organization who knew exactly why that happened. But when that happens, then Donaldson, Jose, Stroman and a few others all left under horrible circumstances, it has to get you wondering that at least the current guys have 0 respect for the players who played before them. That type of s*** must make current players think this is how the organization treats you when you are no longer useful to them. Just happy that Shatkins have stayed away from our World Series winning teams lol.
  13. So I guess Dante Bichette must be the best at his job. It must have nothing to do with his son being on the team right? Lol Also let me know if we have a bunch of Doc Hallday's roaming around. I'd assume you'd want to do your best to keep relationships with guys who gave everything to your organization at the level Doc did. If this was a one off then cool, s*** happens but it seems to becoming a recurring issue. That is my beef. Not even saying this is exactly what happened in this situation since I have no clue what happened. Just saying it made me feel that because of all these past situation.
  14. Again, I don't recall who was in charge when Halladay's family made their comments but they must have had a reason to feel the way they did. Halladay should have went in as a Jay with no questions asked. The fact he didnt speaks volumes as to how our people management skills have been deteriorating. I agree, you always want the best man for the job and "loyalty" should not be ahead of winning. However, you also need to make sure you're doing it in a way to not burn those relationships. For some reason we have a lot of ex Jays from the 2015/2016 run that hate our current regime. Wonder why...
  15. Ya thats clear as day. Personally I'm not a fan of that approach. Things like that could be a reason why a particular player goes into the hall of fame of a particular team. Felt like Roy Halladay not going in as a Jay was fully because of this. Not blaming Shatkins for this since i dont recall or even know the details. Just mentioning the issues with that type of approach. Also shows that a franchise doesnt give 2 shits about loyalty to the organization.
  16. Wooooo. Imagine these kids celebrating a world series win. They are damn happy as they should lol
  17. Let Ryu keep going man.
  18. Was just about to post the same thing. Take it in, we are about to see
  19. Loll. Hey look at Kirk. Hes the Blue Jays hero right now but if he has a bad week leading up to the playoffs, he might not play at all. It happens to players with very little MLB track record lol.
  20. This is the first thing I thought of. His name was definitely part of the auction.
  21. Great play by vladdy! Love Biggio's versatility but he throws pretty weirdly from 3B.
  22. Atta boy Vlad!! Just take that swing on a breaking ball and apply that to fast balls lol.
  23. Would be sweet to clinch against these guys.
  24. Not gonna lie, the news made me think Shatkins continue killing any relationship the Jays had with our former players. Add these guys to the list of Donaldson, Stroman, Bautista, etc. Most of the players they burned bridges with i actually like. These guys seem to have 0 people skills but lets see how they put the finishing touches on this team. All will be forgotten if you win.
  25. Winning 2 out of 3 seems like a total crapshoot. Anyone has a chance to win here.
