  1. I'd even take Walker at this point if those 2 are off the market.
  2. A very unentertaining method. I was hoping baseball went away from this crap tbh. Looks like well be using the opener method for a lot of our starts.
  3. Ok now I don't like it as much if this means we offer less for Paxton/Odorizzi/Walker. If we get one of those guys then hard to be upset at this in any way. Just more competition between Roark/Stripling/Matz.
  4. Ya I was just mentioning we had a bunch of 4/5 starters but this could still be a great move if the Mets are eating some of the 5.2M salary. We had to make room on the 40 man roster anyways so might as well get a guy who could be a 4/5 starter or go to the Pen.
  5. Thing is our entire rotation is full of 4/5 guys with the exception of Ryu. I am going to guess Mets will be eating most of the salary here so they can stay below the luxury tax line when they acquire Bauer. We also free up our 40 man so it could be a win win all around.
  6. Don't know much but is this move made by the Mets to free up room for Bauer? Are we just trying to free up our 40 man roster? Curious to see which prospects are being traded here.
  7. It must suck being a fan of the As and Rays when you keep producing all these talented players but aren't able to keep any. Each could be powerhouses with some Financial backing.
  8. Rather see Bauer in the National League if he isn't coming here so won't even be bad at it.
  9. I did not lol. Just became too difficult to deal with. Remember his treatment of Richard Deitsch being a big issue. There were also reports he just showed up and winged a lot of the stuff.
  10. Cash used Loup in many high leverage situations last year and to be honest, he didn't s*** the bed. I couldn't stand him as a Jay because we used him like he was Mariana Rivera.
  11. You cant really go by career numbers when judging someone where they are today. Imagine judging Jose and Edwin at the start of their domination vs others. Someone posted Roark vs Bauer career stats being very similar when we all know that is not the case today. Semien was top 3 in MVP voting in 2019 and was on that pace for most of last year but because of the shortened season his numbers got diluted. He took a 1 year deal to bet on himself in a year where there is a crazy number of SS's available. That tells you his confidence level and we should be pumped on him using us this season to cash out in 2022.
  12. Shapiro: 'Heavy lifting is done' for Blue Jays after busy offseason https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2100874 Hope this doesn't mean we're not getting a SP...
  13. God dammit. The Yankees or bust thing ended up being true because he would easily get more than that here.
  14. Still way better than the crap they're airing from 2 to 5 right now. How Blair has been able to host a show all these years amazes me. He should be doing an hour of Baseball Central with Barker and that's it.
  15. Ya, if we added Bauer and Rosenthal, I can't see a single hole on our team. I think we're at 128 mill currently and would be at like 170 with both of them added. Crazy part is that both things are actually possible because of the amount of expiring contracts we have next year. It just sounds like too much to add to the payroll in a single offseason so I'd bet against it.
  16. Apparently people were fed up with him. He was treating coworkers like crap. Something along those lines.
  17. I've only been here a year but I can definitely see a few folks pulling that stunt here lol. It's an ego trip that he feels he should already be voted in by now. I do agree with that notion though. Guy was a friggin beast.
  18. So what you're saying is that Semien should be considered our big offseason acquisition and not Springer eh lol.
  19. That was at SS, which he wont be playing here aside from a backup role. Even in the worst case, he should be elite defensively at 2B.
  20. There's no way we don't have 1 significant starter to the mix. It won't be an Ace, which this team still needs in the long run but I expect one of Paxton/Odorizzi/Walker.
  21. I actually like Stroman but damn that's awesome lol.
  22. Look at the market moving rapidly now. Don't care about the position players being scooped up anymore. Onto the starting pitching market!
  23. Yes lol. It might not be the complete truth but it plays a big part. We never used to have 300 million dollar contracts before but they're being given out like candy now. Expect at least 3 players to be added to that list next offseason. It's just how things go.
  24. I'm curious if people would be OK with a package around Biggio + others for Bryant and Hendricks. It's mostly to address the starting pitching gap in a cost effective manner because I don't see us keeping Bryant after the year.
  25. Loll I thought twice before adding but they haven't technically been found guilty of it.
