  1. Expecting to wake up to news Ohtani has signed with us lol
  2. Ya you're right... not sure if Ohtani would go meet any of the other teams on their premises lol
  3. Is this a big deal? He's meeting every team that's in final contention I'd assume.
  4. Ya we def need to add a guy at the level of Hicks. Hopefully being familiar gives us the edge on being able to match any offer.
  5. I think the depth is good but we still lack another top notch reliever. I've said many times that Romano should never be your teams best reliever. Even if the guy we get doesn't become our closer, still need 1 more elite bullpen arm.
  6. If we land Ohtani, we don't need to add a starter. If anything, bringing back Ryu on a 1 year deal is more than enough. My list would be in order of priority: Starting 3B Starting LF Top reliever who can replace Romano if needed (Hicks).
  7. Hes going to get the biggest contract in North American sports history and has had some of the best years of all time leading up to this free agency. Now while one baseball player doesn't have the same impact as a basketball player but this close to "The Decision" from Lebron James. Just gonna hold out hope that Soto could fill the role of Chris Bosh here to join Ohtani lol
  8. They didn't think Schneider could be trusted without blowing the "secret." Clearly Ohtani is gonna be signed before he talks tomorrow
  9. Gotta love the American idiots who think of the Blue Jays as some small market like they're Cleveland or something lol. Sure we're not the Dodgers but we're definitely closer to them than we are to the Clevelands of the world.
  10. Ya I'm not saying he's gonna be a scrub... just that 300M for a pitcher has been reserved for the Cole's of the world. There should only be a handful of pitchers that get that type of money.
  11. Had Shake Shack and can confirm its the best beef burger I've eaten. It's just super pricey so be prepared to spend 25 to 30 bucks for a combo lol.
  12. Paying a dude who hasn't pitched a game in the majors 300M is insane. Ridiculous lol
  13. Atkins probably had to get his fungus checked and couldn't say why. I will NOT let myself get excited about this unless I see it's official. Dodgers just make too much sense for the guy.
  14. If Ohtani gets 2 opt outs then I hope the team would get 1 as well.
  15. Could make or break whether we land Ohtani or Soto lol
  16. Yall are ignoring the fact KFC and Wendy's have coupons that make their chicken sandwiches as the better bang for the buck decisions. Popeyes and Mary Browns are too damn expensive lol.
  17. Maybe I missed something but hasn't Betts been a gold glove level RFer? Why would you take that away to fill 2B?
  18. Braves being in makes total sense. They have so many tradeable contracts that they'd have 0 issues making room if Ohtani wants to go there.
  19. I understand Soto has already turned down 440M but he was coming off an amazing season. He has had 1.5 down seasons for his standards so one more season like that and he'd probably get the same 440M he already turned down. But if I I had to bet, we are going to see Soto's best season because that's what contract years typically do to people. Except if your name is Chapman lol.
  20. If his arms done as a pitcher then he probably wouldn't have much left to throw from the OF I'm guessing? Hard to make that comment without having any history of this lol.
  21. I can't believe I'm sounding like Shatkins here and talking about cost control for sustainable winning lol. While I like the Kawhi comparison, 1 guy in basketball can change your teams entire fortunes. It's anything but that in baseball. The Yankees of all teams who desperately need to make a splash aren't willing to give up a haul for 1 year of Soto... I'm just in agreeance with this train of thought. If you want him so badly then make your push once he's a free agent.
  22. Weren't there pages of people trying to make fun of AA lol
  23. You're assuming Manoah is done while I think he can easily bounce back to be a top of the rotation guy at a super cheap price for many years to come. We need guys like Manoah to pan out so we can spend in other areas of the roster. 1 year of Soto is not worth the chance Manoah returns to form. Multiple years of Soto and I'll drive Manoah and whoever else to the airport.
  24. I would not trade Manoah + for a single year of Soto. Any Soto deal needs to come with an extension or screw him. Go spend those prospects for someone who will be here for multi years.
