    0 playoff wins in 8 years while being in an expanded playoff era with many of those playoff losses being embarrassing. Oh and that whole "waves of talent for sustainable winning" isn't happening because we have a bottom third farm system while already spending near the top of the AL with our 2 best players not even locked up long term. Like wtf else does anyone need to see here man... GTFO lol.

    Those contracts on the backend almost always never workout, which is why I've never complained about not paying players on any 10+ year contract. It's like throwing away 100M imo but I'd be first in line buying an Ohtani jersey if it did happen. Like you're saying, if I was going to invest longterm in someone, it would be a Supreme athlete like Ohtani. It's also why I'm so scared what a Vladdy extension could look like. Just say no to fatties.

    It's so hard as a Jays fan to have any hope for a guy like Ohtani. We have not been in on guys at his level and contract, most of which I think is smart, and now we are going to give out the biggest contract of all time? Ya, ok lol.

    My God... id get that deal if Chapman was coming off a couple of great but he was horrible at the plate for too long to ignore. we would have re-signed Semien if we were throwing that type of money around.

    Vlad is a 1st baseman... stop with the extremes from 1 super down year. I can't see him be any worse even if he tried next year. Although the same could be said about the entire batting lineup, which makes you wonder wtf are they doing over there.

    Wow... people are actually defending brining back the hitting coach. Pretty much everyone across the board performed well below their expectations and we're supposed to say "ah shucks, try again". Jays have one of few highest payrolls in the AL. Running back with all the major players back intact is borderline insanity.

    That's not what I meant because I'd obviously go nuts if we ever got Ohtani. Just meant I would prefer to get a guy like Judge and an elite pitcher for the same price as Ohtani if we had the choice. In the end, my post was unnecessary lol.

    Let's get Hoskins and Teo BUT I'm still concerned what we can do about 3B if we lose Chapman. Defense at 3B is extremely important, especially with Bo being at SS. Are there any good Plan B's there?

    Well obviously is the overall better player but I'm also considering Ohtani is going to get paid 10/550. Hard to commit that much to 1 guy. I'd rather hedge on 2 guys instead but that's just me.

    Also benefits us to have our name mentioned because if we don't get him then the other team has to pay more, leaving less money for other players.
