  1. Im not saying Straw is better than Roden but for what this team will need as a temporary Varsho replacement at CF. And I'd rather use a small Spring Training sample size than projections, Straw has looked good enough imo.
  2. Ya, i can't see the Jays letting him go considering he's a lefty and has been a proven long man out of the bullpen that every team needs when breaking camp.
  3. Who would do better in CF while Varsho is out, Roden or Springer? Personally, I think Straw has done enough to get the nod since we're paying him 5M anyways.
  4. Scherzer about to win the Cy Young and the Gold Glove lol
  5. That last spot on the 40 man has gotta go to Yarborough
  6. Ya I agree that we should milk Straw while we need him and looks good, he won't be as useful once Varsho comes back. The only issue is that Straw isn't on the 40 man so you'd have to get rid of someone to use him for however long Varsho is out for.
  7. And just like that, we have a Springer Dinger. Shame on all of YOU for doubting him!!! Lol
  8. Springer is GREAT. This message was in no way editted ever lol.
  9. While those things are true, i think its also flawed. Gimenez would need to be a high OBP guy to actually make that scenario practical. I prefer having Kirk up to bat in run driving positions that would come with batting right after the big 3. I see Gimenez more likely being a rally killer than a guy who will keep it going and be on base for Kirk based on his performance the past 2 seasons.
  10. Ya that's why I've been saying to move him right after our big 3. Would be a huge boost to the lineup if he can regain his allstar form again. Hope Schneider isn't stuck on the idea of splitting our lefties to the detriment of the overall lineup.
  11. VS Righties 3B Wagner SS Bo 1B Vlad DH Santandar C Kirk CF Varsho RF Springer LF Barger/Rodon 2B Gimenez VS Lefties SS Bo 1B Vlad DH/LF Santandar C Kirk RF Springer LF/DH Schneider/Martinez CF Varsho 3B Clement 2B Gimenez Obviously the positions will switch around based on who makes the team and who's in the lineup.
  12. Springer/Gimenez have been batting 4th/5th and 5th/6th.
  13. There's no way the Jays plan to use Gimenez 5th and Kirk 8th simply because of being a lefty/righty correct?
  14. Their future is fully dependent on how the Jays do this year. Shapiro nailed his fate with Atkins once he refused to fire him over the past couple of years. We all want the Jays to do well so if that means Shatkins stays as a result then I'm fine with it. Currently I got them as a fringe Wild Card team if things go right for the most part. I don't think the season will go well enough for them to remain here though... just my 2 cents.
  15. And yet he's good enough to start for this team on opening day when he hasn't even had a full year at AAA?
  16. Normally it would make sense to manipulate his service time but there's too much riding on this season to probably not go with your best players period
  17. Like most already knew, ABS needs to be in baseball like yesterday. It's awesome
  18. Congrats Gallo, you are the new Cleanup Hitter for the Jays lol
  19. This roster already needs those guys even if Springer turns the clock back. This season will be heavily dependent upon having at least 2 of the AAA guys become good MLB contributors.
  20. Francis/Rodriguez/Bloss have been getting rocked all spring. Hope Francis can at least turn it around since the 5th spot is all but his.
  21. Wasn't me but if Jaysblue said it, I'll sign off on it without even knowing what he said lol.
  22. Thing is this team doesn't have anyone else on the roster except maybe Kirk who i could comfortably want as our cleanup hitter. I've loved what the kids have shown in Spring but I don't think anyone wants to throw them in the middle of our lineup yet. Let's hope Kirky has a big bounce back year.
  23. Haha literally the first time I called out seeing Springer/Gimenez in the 4/5 spot... maybe twice at most. Just getting warmed up for the season tbh lol.
  24. Our cleanup hitter (Springer) is 3/19 Our number 5 hitter (Gimenez) is 6/25 Gonna be a long season with those 2 in the middle or top of our lineup.
  25. It's just weird using extremely young players at the DH spot unless youre an Alvarez type. There should be enough ABs for Wagner/Rodon even if we added Martinez with injuries/day offs expected. Heck, I don't think J.D. is a savior but the middle of the lineup is so sad that he'd still be an upgrade from what we have currently.
