    Has this version of Barger not earned a longer rope to determine whether he can or cannot hit against lefties, considering he's only been at this level for a few months? Wouldn't it make sense to get these reps now so we can determine come playoff time whether he should sit or not? To me, its an easy decision when the alternative is giving Jimenez ABs. Barger has also been great defensively so its not like you're not getting anything from him in the worst case.

    Hoffman's season numbers indicate he's either elite or crap. We cannot rely on someone that volatile as our closer in super meaningful games once we get closer to the playoffs. We'll see how the front office feels by the bullpen arm we add at the deadline

    I was literally waiting for him to give up a HR at the end. Very easy to see when hes elite or complete crap. I dont want to risk potential playoff games by rolling the Hoffman dice.

    Hes not a scrub but he definitely cant be your primary closer. We've seen enough and his numbers are his numbers for a reason. We need the ability to be able to pull him quickly when he clearly doesnt have it. Thats easier done when the guy isnt your closer.

    Exactly... we got the allstar break so just use all the low leverage guys now. The high leverage guys should be available for both of the remaining games.
