  1. Oh I get it, he's really short. Like 5'6". Not many effective players in MLB not named Altuve. Don't say Stroman, because if you look at his numbers for 2022, he is no longer effective.
  2. Super Barrio Brothers is perfect.
  3. Does anyone know if it is possible to list a bunch of players by fWAR for the current season using Fangraphs? I'd like to be able to list all the ex-Jays and see how they are doing at any given time.
  4. Hey, what do you all think extensions would look like for Vladdy and Bo? They are both free agents in 2026. Their arb numbers *may* look like this... 5M/10M/18M/22M Could/should the Jays sign both of them for similar amounts? 12-year, 340M? Is this even close to realistic? I do not even know where they would begin. Bichette -> 30/30/30/30/30/30/30/30/30/30/20/20 (FA at 35 years old) Vladdy -> 30/30/30/30/30/30/30/30/30/30/20/20 (FA at 34 years old) I do not want to trade them, but say by 2024 no extensions are signed, and both continue their career trajectory...what sort of haul would they bring back, say, if they started looking at trades as early as 2024? Could you imagine trading both for 4-5 A prospects from a couple organizations? It'd be sad, but super interesting. Another option would be to sign one, and trade the other. You still get a huge haul, and you keep one of the "vets".
  5. Random question, tonight's Blue Jays Central played a really cool song whenever they went to a commercial break. Does anyone know the name of that tune and the band that plays it? It sort of sounds like The Killers...
  6. Lol, that is exactly what I was thinking. I hate both teams so much. If they play each other to .500 on the season it bodes well for us.
  7. EE, JB and JD was a great trio, but this team, top to bottom (IMO) is just way more balanced and talented.
  8. What are some of the worst trades in Jays history? I keep coming back to the RA Dickey trade, but is that the worst?
  9. Nathan Lukes is an interesting kid. He keeps looking good this Spring.
  10. Ben Gamel wouldn't cost much, plays all OF positions, and bats left. He's a FA after 2023. I know we have Tapia now, but I wonder if Gamel would be a better get?
  11. I don't see it listed...but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not on
  12. Super sensitive. Seek counseling.
  13. Whoa, we so sensitive, mate? It's Sunday, have a dram.
  14. If I was single, his age, and sort of famous, I would bang anything that moves to be honest. I don't hold that against him. He was driving while impaired. A suspension is warranted, and he needs to donate some money to MADD, take some courses, or whatever. I don't know PW, but he seems like a really cool dude. He could be an alcoholic and genuinely needs help. I have fought alcoholism most of my adult life and it's not fun. But on the other hand, maybe he just had a stupid night and drove while under the influence. Our premier has one DUI and has killed someone while driving a car (Scott Moe). I think PW can walk away from this and still have a job. Hopefully he has learned his lesson. Just f***ing call Uber, man. $20 to preserve a solid career coaching. Well worth it.
  15. No, not how what works? Hiring managers? DUI? HOF cred? What?
  16. I didn't realize that was his second. But, IMO, LaRussa is a HOF manager, and Walker never has before. Two different scenarios.
  17. So, this means that Walker will not be hired by any team as a manager for a while. If the Jays don't fire him, he's our forever!
  18. He was, and ran like a gazelle. He made hard plays look easy.
  19. 100% agree. If he stays healthy, he should. Count me as someone really happy he is gone, though. He was a bottleneck.
  20. Do you all think Greg Bird has a chance to stick? He's intriguing all right. Might be a good lefty DH and backup 1B. I would rather carry him than Reese as the 3rd catcher. He seems to be getting lots of looks, anyway.
  21. The asking price presumably also goes down the longer Cleveland waits...it may be worth it just hoping Bird is something and see what happens. Although having all the bullets to start the season would be nice.
  22. Well, we can close this thread now. That covers pretty much everything.
  23. I am really surprised he didn't sign a 1-year. I will look this up but he must have an opt-out clause after a year. No way he just signs for 23M AAV.
