The front office was after Simmons last year at the deadline, apparently made a call this offseason and they're after Lindor. Seems to me like they dont believe Bo can be an elite defensive SS and they'd like one at that spot.

I think people are expecting Cleveland to get a lot more than they actually will for Lindor if he doesnt come with an extension.

Obviously I dont know much about him, but id be kinda disappointed if Kim is the reason the Jays are out on Lindor. Kind of set myself up with the Lindor rumours lol

5 definitely seems young to be teaching kids the fundamentals of the game because I dont think a 5 year old gives a s*** or even has the ability properly translate what they learned into a game situation. But maybe im underestimating how smart 5 years old are, I dont have kids. But if the kid likes it and enjoys themselves, then im all for it. -
Sure, but a lot of reliable insiders are making it seem like Lindor (and Springer) are a lot more of a realistic than DJL or Realmuto. Really only Passan recently and Shi have made it seem like DJL might be someone they really want, whereas practically everyone has connected them to Lindor and Springer.

I think theres too much smoke around Lindor for there not to be fire. It seems like they do want to add a couple of elite players (Springer and Lindor).

Sorry dont know how to embed youtube. He was pretty skinny here. Not expecting him to be that slim again, but he still looks like he could drop some pounds. Much better than last year though.

Masai isnt sticking around through this transition phase with the Raptors, just like Theo wasnt with the Cubs. Raps will be fine as long as they keep the rest of the front office.

He'll absolutely make himself more money if he's an average 3b, so im not surprised he's trying to play there. It would give the team a lot more flexibility if he could give them innings at 3b anyways. Just gotta hope he's at least adequate at third.

I kind of believe in Danny Jansen, so im not sure I would rush and give Realmuto 20+ million. Might be better off signing some other guys to some short term deals addressing other areas. Wouldnt be mad at a Realmuto aigning though, obviously. I just think Jansen will put it together and he's a hell of a lot cheaper.

I think theres legitmately less than a handful of teams interested in Lindor. How many teams want to trade good, cheap, controllable talent for someone who is expensive next year and then will need a mega extension in the middle of a pandemic? Right now its probably only the jays and mets, with the jays being the more aggressive team, which why so many arr choosing them. But depending on how the rest of the offseason goes, other teams may end up going for lindor. If the yankees lose Lemahieu, maybe they look at lindor. Also, apparently a lot of teams are waiting to see what progress is made with a vaccine and how fast it will be distributed because it will effect attendance, which is one reason why the market is moving really slow. Theres not a lot of clarity right now. It'll probably take a while for a trade happen. I imagine cleveland is going to wait and see if his market opens up.

Fwiw, I was watching the Jomboy media livestream and Passan said he thinks Lindor ends up in either toronto or with the mets. Olney later on also said he thinks the Jays end up with Lindor. He also thinks they'll end up signing realmuto, because he thinks springer is going to the mets. He was pretty convinced we'll get someone.

Passan on the michael kay show said the Mets are "definitely" the favourites for Springer. https://cms.megaphone.fm/channel/ESP...=ESP8026282981 Pretty much lines up with with Olney saying he'd bet the family farm that Springer goes to the mets. Nightendale on the Fan also had the Mets getting Springer. Some other tidbits are he thinks Lemahieu could sign in the next week to 10 days. Pretty much said the Yankees are the favourites but need to up their offer. Their first offer was "underwhelming". Also said his instincts are that a Lindor deal will take a while.

Its a trade off. Take advantage of Lindors prime, hopefully win a WS or two and stomach the 2nd half of the deal. You're going to want to take advantage of the rest of Lindors prime, which probably the next 5 years. If you acquire Lindor, you need to add more to really make this team a WS contender. Lindor + Springer/Realmuto + a top half of the rotation arm probably puts them there. Who knows if they have the payroll to do that. That Lindor contract will be massive, so I could understand if they passed tbh.

Love Gurriel, but he's not stopping me from getting one of the best shortstops in the league. Ideally you keep him, but you gotta give to get. Especially if you can get Lindor extended.

Depending on how Realmuto's market plays out, I could see him being the more attractive option. If the Mets are actually out on him, it makes things interesting.
