  1. Looks like Mets may be focused on Hand. Rosenthal reported it was done but he was wrong. Wheres theres smoke, theres fire though. Things may be lining up for the Jays and Springer.
  2. I think I wouldve done 5/90. But looks like it wouldve had to be more for him to come here.
  3. Runner up for like 6th time this offseason
  4. Schwarber signing with the Nationals makes me feel that way too.
  5. From Joel Sherman: "In a market in which the teams and top players have not seen eye-to-eye on value amid a pandemic, the Mets have still not engaged seriously with Springer. That could change. Or they could emphasize defense and fine — but not great — offense by signing Bradley Jr." https://nypost.com/2021/01/13/mlbs-dh-fight-holding-up-mets-offseason-sherman/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
  6. Got the fourth year, good for him. And really interesting way to handle that buyout if it happens.
  7. Bryant is a Boras client, really unlikely he signs an extension before testing FA.
  8. Cleveland is dumb They're closer to a complete tear down and rebuild then they are a championship. Shoulda took the higher ceilling package.
  9. From Longley: "Meanwhile, Jays fans in a tizzy about losing out on Lindor may want to stand down — for now, anyway, especially if it means the chances of landing Springer improve. The talented all star reportedly is seeking a five-year deal for a minimum of $150 million U.S., which would be towards the upper end of what Toronto would be willing to pay, although doable." https://torontosun.com/sports/baseball/toronto-blue-jays/longley-losing-out-on-lindor-doesnt-mean-blue-jays-are-doomed-in-off-season-derby/wcm/22d159ff-7b7f-482c-bc71-83577dfc30cf/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
  10. When you sign bauer for 30 mill a year and then they ban foreign substances lol. Would be tough for the team signing him
  11. If the mets payroll is really that high, really hard to imagine they're still in on springer. Tough offseason to want to dump salary too
  12. Well seems to me that asking price probably wasnt actually gurriel and that was just speculation from some.
  13. Planning on signing a key FA doesnt seem like the best strategy for the Blue Jays
  14. Sucks watching the mets have the offseason I wanted the jays to have
  15. I think he signs. Clearly he's interested in coming to the MLB and I highly doubt he'll do anything next year that will actually warrant an increase in salary, plus it doesnt seem like there will be crowds for the majority of next season.
  16. https://theathletic.com/2305777/2021/01/06/rosenthal-francisco-lindor-yu-darvish-blake-snell/?amp#click=https://t.co/H6RkurFSzp Anybody able to unlock this and post what he says about Lindor?
  17. Yeah, grass tends be a fair bit more expensive and the maintence expenses on a yearly basis are fair bit more than turf.
  18. Teams are doing it because its cheaper to maintain turf. Everything else is BS, and I'd be willing to bet the MLBPA feels the same way as the NFLPA, but because its only a handful of teams that have turf, its not much of an issue yet. And I believe Shapiro did suggest the new stadium would have real grass, which was also reported in that globe and mail article.
  19. Well the NFLPA is asking owners to switch to natural grass if they have turf. https://apnews.com/article/nfl-football-archive-9b34d4402f2f82ae60708605f65aa560
  20. Convienent leak tho. Springers camp gets on NY radio essentially telling the Mets to up their offer through Duquette lol
  21. Yeah it'll probably take that 6th year to pry him away from the Mets. Maybe they'll be able to convince him this is a better situation for him. Fingers crossed.
  22. Gotta think he's going to the West coast. The Giants are my guess.
  23. Jays should pivot off. It makes way too much sense for him to go the mets. He'll get his money, family is from CT, stays in America. Plus out bidding the Mets this year means it will be a really ugly contract.
