  1. Wow, that's surprising. Baseball's definitely changing.
  2. You may have a point there From a rational stand point, I don't think a man with some time in the big-leagues is gonna be signing up to message boards with the name Ex-player and then tease a bunch of hints to the fellow users regarding who he might be LOL
  3. Tuning in late tonight. Jays not able to do anything against Means and the O's pen, hey?... Yikes! haha. Gonna be a longggggggggggggg season
  4. You guys are actually buying this? I've been under the impression it's been a troll the whole time. He likely just has a nice hotel suite.
  5. One thing's for sure, I've never watched a team who strikes out as much as these guys. I wouldn't be surprised if there's worse in the league, that seems to be the trend of how baseball is going, but man, all the whiffing makes for some boring viewing.
  6. Siddall was saying that he thinks it was to send a message to him for dogging on that drive off the wall and playing a routine groundout lazily into a hit.
  7. I doubt that. It's pretty clear that he was very loyal to Beeston and I don't think it's far fetched to assume that his ego couldn't take the initial dressing down from Shapiro
  8. I'm personally not seeing what all the hype is about regarding Shapiro and Atkins. They seem pretty run of the mill and by the books. Nothing inherently wrong with that, but I haven't seen much creativity in the roster structure or the in game strategy. Most of the bats they've brought in have been one dimensional. I realize there's a few kids who might pan out, but you need to have a decent roster to implement around them. And I think maybe most importantly, the pitching pipeline looks sparse. Their game-plan of being competitive in 2020 looks like a pipe-dream. Looking at the roster structure, it's hard to imagine this team being good any time soon.
  9. Some of it could be attributed to an overall losing culture. Take Stroman for example, he seems exasperated with the lack of run support. Some of the looks on these guys faces when they show them on the bench speak volumes. I've read it mentioned here, but that's one of the problems that can arise when you have these brutal tank seasons. It can be demoralizing, especially for some of the lesser experienced players.
  10. Just goes to show what can happen when you actually put the ball in play...Not to mention actually having some speed on the roster.
  11. Any word about why Smoak was out of the lineup? Seems weird to keep our best hitter out of the lineup on the Friday night, free jersey game.
  12. Annnnnnnnnd Stroman gives it right back. His body language on the mound has been weird tonight. Sorta as if he doesn't care
  13. And just as I say that, Teoscar runs into one. Well, it's a start I suppose. lol
  14. Man, this team's pretty unwatchable. They routinely make these gas-cans look like Greg Maddux out there. I suppose I'm only frustrated cause I for some reason bet 75 dollars on the Jays... Damn it! I really gotta keep my heart out of the wagers I make
  15. lol it didn't even reach the warning track.
  16. Haha awesome Duquette quip, this is exactly how I feel
  17. True, but you at least have to try and play a competitive game, if for no reason but for the fans. I know people don't like to think this way, but they are supposed to be putting an entertaining product on the field.
  18. I understand not wanting to burn the bullpen, but shouldn't Montoyo at least try in the 3rd inning to keep the game competitive? Waiting until the pitcher gives up 10 runs in 2 1/3 innings seems pretty a little careless.
  19. I know it's a tank season, but I wish Montoyo would be a little quicker with the hook
  20. All things considered, still probably as good as an outcome as one could expect with Snell on the mound. Jays lack of situational hitting bites em in the ass again though.
  21. A lot of these old-school managers won't bring in a closer in a tied game on the road... I don't get it. You see the same move used commonly across the league.
  22. Man, Wade Miley's been dealing for the Stro's. A couple years ago I figured he was done.
  23. Panone is definitely not the kind of reliever that you want pitching late in close games. Ignoring his crappy numbers, his velocity is s*** and he just doesn't have the "stuff". Probably the last guy I'd put in a 2 run game in the 7th inning.
  24. Well, prepare to be pissed. He's Atkins last big piece to trade in order to net something good for the rebuild. He struck out with his other chips so I think he's gonna work hard to not mess this one up.
