  1. Just to play Devil's Advocate. There is the expression a manager can't win you a game, but he sure can lose you one. I believe this applies to hitting coaches/or team hitting philosophy if they don't have hitters that fit in an approach or a system. This is a general assertion. Kinda like a quarterback not being a good fit for a scheme. Assuming a player wants to be respectful, known as coachable, and buys into the all for the Team approach, I can see them doing day after day, what the hitting coach is preaching. The problem is some guys just aren't wired that way and need to go back to what got them there. If you have a guy who has made his bones off hitting the first pitch, and now the org is preaching daily, take pitches etc or use the whole field when they can only really pull the ball. I can see there being conflict. Especially for a newer player to a team or a younger player. From what I heard from B&B tonight, Vlad is off in his own world doing some slice thing off the T and you have other MLB players going WTF?? So maybe in Vlad's case it is the opposite and he isn't listening to the coaches.
  2. When is Vlad going to learn the good ole boys don’t like Gatorade showers for a non-walk off situation. Vlad has single handedly made the Gatorade shower irrelevant.
  3. Rookies giveth, rookies taketh.
  4. That could be the leak in the damn. You can’t play s*** D against these teams!
  5. So the whole Domingo German thing makes sense now. He was scheduled to start. The Yankees then say he is injured and unavailable to make the start or something and Brito will start.. Brito starts the game, then a few innings later German comes into pitch. Everyone in the know in the baseball world, but not in the know of the Yankees world was like WTF??? German was just put on the restricted list due to alcohol abuse... He was probably drunk or hungover... Needed to wait to sober up... LOL
  6. So I think Big Wong will give us a mental boost and some extra energy. However, we have a horrible history of position players acquired from St. Louis and their first game performances. A whole lot of womp, womp, womp. I am already satisfied regardless, since he took away D from Espinal and Biggio.
  7. If you are keying on the DFA, I meant sent to the minors. When we add Chad Green, who else will we send down, and assuming we are sticking with a 6 man rotation? Plus Jay Jackson is on paternity.. Where is there room for Pearson? Plus Romano coming back eventually..
  8. Trade him for what? He will get what we sent for Genesis Cabrera, if that...
  9. I didn't want to add to this thread. However, Pearson lacks control. Control in general, not just being able to elevate his fastball. Hence he is a middle relief type guy and on the cusp of getting DFA.
  10. Well, the silver lining is I own a lot of shares of Bradish, Santander and one of Gunnar Henderson on my fantasy teams -
  11. Just to point out that Boston will be getting Story, Whitlock, and Hauck back soon believe..
  12. No, it doesn't make sense... Gunnar is a far superior hitter regardless lefty/righty and already had had a HR off a lefty
  13. I don't understand the decision to put Hays on (who is speedy as f***) to pitch to Gunnar who already hit a HR against a LHP.. That opened the flood gates and put the game out of reach.... Not like you are facing Ohtaini in Hays??
  14. She understood the assignment. Good on her!!
  15. I have taught my 8 year old since he was 4 to keep the ball in front of you. Face the ball and let it bounce off your chest if need be, keep it in front of you. Like a hockey goal tender. That is twice in the past two or three games Espinal has gone sideways on a hot shot and let it go for a key hit..
  16. Dude, you were defending the s*** out of him and his D the other day?????
  17. Where is Brownie and Laika who don't even watch the games to look at the stats page in the AM and keep telling me that Espinal is fine at D... Suck my big shaved balls!
  18. I don't get this walking... Hays is no Willy Mays Hays..
  19. Holy s*** that is the epitome of disrespect to bunt the runner over in the 2nd. Basically, the O's feel if they get 3 runs they are putting the game out of reach of our offense. Damn!
  20. This might be a true statement, but it doesn't mean Biggio is good at 2b either. Witt and Dejong are now our best options at 2b. Espinal is flat out costing us and hurting our pitch counts etc. I am counting down the days to the eject button.
  21. Urias. who used to be decent, went from the Brewers to the Red Sox for nada.. Granted, Urias was in MILB, but nice depth piece for the minors.
  22. I was talking about love in the poll and being sarcastic. He got zero votes in the poll.. lol
  23. I hope to hell we are not going to war with our bench bats being Espinal, Biggio and DeJong... beside from one of Belt/Kirk/Jansen.
