  1. If I were Atkins, ( and we are both white guys who speak Spanish, so we have that in common). I would put Clayton Dick in the pen as our Loogy.
  2. Richards was a trade from San Diego I believe. He does not have good numbers the past two years in the NL. New school, old school, Borucki flat outpitched him in the AL East.
  3. I can stomach it if Buchholtz and Shoemaker take spots. But for Borucki to get bumped out by Richards, would be a travesty.
  4. Ryan Borucki- Making the Blue Jays Great Again
  5. Stop triggering me man.. I have no safe space:(
  6. My dream is they invite you on the podcast. That would be Epic!!
  7. That is not a good thing.
  8. Think Borucki had a pick- off at 1b also?
  9. I will you credit that you are at least putting forth a substanative argument to make the case. I am in an airport waiting to board on my cell. However, I recall from memory, Happ allowed 10 more HRs in only 3 more starts and something like (14 more innings- just going off memory). Happ had far less QS with only 3 more starts, and Borucki had a better ERA.. I realize ERA many times is a little skewed by your defense and relief pitchers. It is subjective Happ was better as a Blue Jay last year. It is not clear cut. Happ was getting rocked before the trade. Happ gave up too many HRs and doesnt go long in as many games. I want QSs!
  10. Thanks, more data points for my case you are deflecting because you cannot substantiate your argument that started this whole thing.
  11. I have been on this board long enough and know you guys well enough that when this is all you got, it means I am factually correct. When I am not, you guys, come back with a fire hose of metrics to try and prove me wrong. In this case, you dont like my fecicious nicknames and have to harp on my adoptive relationship with Boxy. Ryan you better not let me down!! Orpanage here I come:(
  12. By what measure...??? I already checked Happ before I made that statement.... Not ERA, not HR rate, not QS.. Happ has him by a little bit in WHIP..
  13. Man, what happened to through good times and bad times, sickness and health.
  14. Obviously the word ACE is hyperbole and I am having fun with you all. However, he was our best SP in 2018. Fact!
  15. Point taken, I was thinking of only hitting and not OBP..
  16. It is a metaphor for the fact he was our ACE last year and people on here are trying to argue Gaviglio is better then Borucki, Richards should a ML spot before Borucki, Borucki should start in AAA. There is not benefit to the best pitcher on our staff in 17 starts to start in AAA. No learning curve benefit and does not reward a player for performance, (there is no contractual reasons like Vlad). It would absolutely be a travesty if he does not get one of the 5 spots, just on principal and optics.
  17. How the heck did Gurribabip enter this conversation? Are the Jays trying to convert him to an outfielder and starting pitcher??
  18. Who gives a sh$it about K rates and ground ball % etc when ACEucki had 11 QS in 17 starts... In this day and age with long pens and starters only expected to go 5, the days of Halladay's CG games long behind us, I want a pitcher who can give me a QS. A QS means that the team has a chance to win and reasonably supports the pen set up. Yes, Estrada had 11 QS also, but he had like 50 more innings and 11 more starts. The fact of the matter is ACEucki was the best SP on the team in 2018. ACEoucki had 3 more QS than Happ while he was a BJ and Happ had 3 more starts. Gaviglio had 4, QS in 24 starts.. Trying to compare ACEucki and Sam a Ray I was a Blue Jay I am, is nonsensical.
  19. If even the best are going to fail 70% of the time in the game, good outs vs. bad outs should be encouraged, absolutely.
  20. There are all kinds of guys with great plans and do great in combines etc, etc. It is the opposite, at the end of the day you want results.. Process is theory, results is results..
  21. Having Pillar hit after Vlad is like towing a Toyota Tercel with a Five hundred thousand dollar motor-home..
  22. First game I will get to watch this year... Nice to have on TV.
  23. Why would you put the pitcher with most QS on the team last year in AAA. ACEucki was on the same pace the year Stroman got like 14. ACEucki did that againt Houston, AL East, teams in the playoff race or playing for position. Bottom line, best Blue Jay SP in 2018 and better than Richards’s last two years in the NL. Giving ACEucki a SP spot coming out of ST is not a gift, he earned it more then any other pitcher he is battleing against and how they pitched in 2018. It will be blasphemy not to give ACEorucki a spot based on 2018 performance vs the competition.
