  1. I don’t think I am rude to anyone on here about baseball related takes. When you are having a debate about a FA signing does it really require that? Maybe in the politics thread... I said the same thing about the Dickey trade in 2012 when I was a frequent poster on Scout. Heard same s***. Knuckleballers age well, etc, took a lot of abuse for a contrary opinion. Like I said, no prospect capital so nothing wrong with the upside. Just personally don’t think it will work out like we hope.
  2. I thought you were dead?
  3. Was driving all day, saw it this AM. Not claiming it to be my own. The point is your hyperbole that there is zero evidence is just that.
  4. First off you are way too emotional, and rude on top of that. This reminds me of RA Dickey, he just won the Cy Young in the NL, not just a runner up. Then he fnnn sucked! At least in this case no prospect capital, just money, so really no downside. A lot of you guys remind me of a guy who could never get the playboy playmate type girlfriend... Then you find out her boyfriend dumped her and you are thinking WTF why would any dude dump her, she is so HOT and I would give my left nut to be with her. The fact of the matter is the other guy was tired of f***ing her, she started becoming a dead fish in bed and he was moving on to better, younger and hotter chicks. I have real concerns when a pitcher is so good the other big money teams are not competing for him with anymore than a mmm whatever... There was no compensation pick and if no warning signs why??? Listen at the end of the day, not really any negatives since only $$ and we are in a good situation dollar wise. The only negative is he sucks but is not injured and we keep on putting him out there because the PR optics of that much $$ and not playing him is not good, while we have young pitchers in our system who don't get a spot. I hope he works out. I think he will be about like Dickey. I am just not jizzing over him... I was hoping we would get better via trade... Still do.. Wish I had him on my Fantasy team, according to a lot of you I could trade him for a goldmine.
  5. Not zero: ERA predictors weren’t quite as impressed (3.10 FIP, 3.32 xFIP, 3.77 SIERA) with Ryu’s performance, while his modest 90.6mph fastball finished in the bottom 11th percentile in both fastball velocity and spin rate.
  6. Wasn’t me. Not a big proponent of FA market and for guys over 30, especially pitchers.
  7. Not just injury risk. What will be a double gut punch will be if he stays healthy and just gets rocked every start.. Seems like limited no-trade vs total no trade which is good.
  8. Hate to be Debbie Downer, but the fact Friedman (very smart) didn’t make a push to sign him after losing out on MadBum, Cole, Strasburg etc. LA had hometown advantage, the Coliseum is a pitchers park with cavernous OF. I could be wrong and we outbid the Dodgers with $ and the city etc. However, my spider senses are telling me a very smart baseball FO passed for a reason. Either, medical, analytics they are seeing.. I just don’t get it....? Also, a NL west pitcher coming to AL East there is normally regression. Apart from that, I am happy
  9. Or for a country with 35 million people who's biggest trading partner, physical neighbor and closest culturally with a population of 365 Million uses Fahrenheit, but decides to go to something different because they use metric in Europe, that is thousands of miles away and 1/10 the associations culturally, trade etc. But whatever....
  10. Substitute, Mexico, Jamaica, DR, Cuba, Bahamas etc for Belize and same issues. However, not in the resorts or predominantly tourist areas. Stay in the resort tourist areas and you are good, no issues and very nice. PS: What are you Donald Trump? Not very PC of you referring to predominantly black and Latino countries as shitholes..
  11. 79 degrees is spring weather, not hot dude... Reminds me of the time I went all the way up to Toronto to see the Canada Day game and have a nice day at the ballpark with the roof open. They ended up closing the roof on a beautiful sunny day a 1 pm start. because it was "too hot" fnnnn sucked in a closed dome!!!! Felt like I was at the Trop and negated the whole point of going to an afternoon game in TO in July...
  12. Good morning, I am sitting here eating fresh local fruit and drinking homemade orange juice on the beach in Belize. It is a beautiful 79 degrees and sunny. I just took a little dip in the ocean, and I am getting paid while here. Sorry to see you got up on the wrong side of the bed and you hate your life. Have a great day!
  13. So, not one to complain and YOU have been awesome and I am really enjoying this. I would like to inquire as to my remedies if any, to the fact that I was not aware that Diego Castillo was on my roster. When you added him, and he was on top of my target list for FAs, it totally threw off my math of who was expendable and my roster construction. Very happy to have him.. Pleasant surprise, but I made trades the past few months etc with guys in mind that were keepers no matter what and others who were expendable... Now my calculations are screwed up and I am going to lose a player I was not expecting.. Thanks
  14. Thanks, going to stand by for a ruling on your question.. I have some guys without green flags who are in minors and only projected to play 49 games max in 2020.
  15. I have some SP/RPs available: Chase Anderson Reynaldo Lopez Also have a few more SPs if interested. Same boat as others. Need MILB or picks please. Thanks
  16. Sent you a trade inquiry.
  17. So I know I am the new guy. However, if MLB is going to 26 man rosters, why can't we and doesn't it make sense? It would be very helpful Also, how do I "cut" a guy to cut my roster down to 32? Thanks!
  18. He is the epitome of corporate speak/being a politician... but like a politician, lot's of BS and no action/results.
  19. Still a little confused? 19 on ML roster but can have others in minors and on IL, correct? Also, BTS, the spread sheet you sent me didn't appear updated for 2020 order of waiver wire/FA selection? I am not sure which pick number I have? Thanks all!
  20. I was going to make a snide comment about this. Then I thought it is probably just as reliable as JPM...
  21. The more and more I look at it, I strongly think we should offer to take Happ 100% salary and maybe throw in another bone for Tauchman and Ford. Both are blocked with Gardner signing in OF and Ford X 2 at 1b. Tauchman is plus D and great O. Ford will outhit Rowdy and both have really good OBP. Hope Happ has a good 1st half, use him in a slot while we see what we have in our fringe guys and wait for Pearson, trade Happ at the deadline.. Even if we need to eat salary..
  22. I like your thought process. However, I think with a govt that believes in high taxes in the first place, that would create a lot of controversy as to perception of the rich not paying their fair share and why would the average Joe and Pierre (in your guys case) have to pay the tax rate but a multi-millionaire athlete doesn't. Although, I do agree with it. I think the economic benefits of having winning and playoff teams to the city and country far outweighs what you lose on some guys personal tax rate. I would even go further and make it lower then US so as to attract vs solo negate the advantages of US locations. *On another note, and maybe best left for the Politics thread. My wife and I were looking through the ratings/profiles of some local doctors down here in Florida the other day to try and find a certain type of doctor or than GP. I was very surprised how many Canadians there are. Seems to me just in my little sample size that a lot of Canadian doctors have fled to come down to practice in US. I just don't see the advantage of losing your best and brightest professional talent and Free agent athletes.. So, I think something should be done.. You need to go to grass also!!
