  1. I guess you don't use and value Fantrax much. That explains why you were asking me for Biggio PLUS for Bell when Biggio is ranked higher than Bell in the top 500 MLB fantasy/dynasty players. You should have given me Bell + if I were to send Biggio. Specially since we play in a OBP league..
  2. Says the guy who uses rankings for real life baseball and not tailored for Fantasy/Dynasty. Fantrax considers fantasy only, and this one specifically Dynasty. Keyword Dynasty Jim.. FV.
  3. Evan White is ranked higher than Mountcastle, has more helium and was available here for pitching also apparently. However, the CD analytics department liked Mountcastle better. at the end of the day... I guess we shall see....
  4. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/top-10-mlb-prospects-2020-first-base-led-by-andrew-vaughn-for-dynasty-ryan-mountcastle-for-right-now/ Also: Ryan Mountcastle – 3B/SS 2019 Top-30 Bio: Age: 22 yr, Weight: 195 lbs, Height: 6-3 Hits/Throws: R/R School: Hagerty (FL) HS MLB Draft: Round 1, Overall: 36 Future Value Ceiling: 55 Realistic: 50 Current Level: AAA, ETA: 2020 2019 AVG OBP SLG HR SB CS ISO K% BB% SwStr% Est FB (ft) - .310 .343 .525 25 2 1 .215 23.5 4.4 15.6 306.8 Versatile defender who can play all over the diamond should make an impact in 2020. Ryan Mountcastle has a chance to make the Opening Day roster this year unless the Orioles decide to play the service time game. No matter when he eventually finds his way to Baltimore, he is a good bet to be productive when he gets there. Drafted as a shortstop, he has bounced around a bit defensively but he would be an immediate upgrade at almost any position in the Orioles lineup. He has plenty of pull-side loft and his raw power is plus. He could provide 30 home run upside to go with a solid batting average making him a high-floor player. For a player who could hit .300, his walk rate (4.3%) is comically bad. While this isn’t unusual in today’s game, plate discipline for a hitter that doesn’t hit 40 home runs should be better. This is why the offensive profile for Mountcastle is probably better suited for third base than it is anywhere else but I can envision a scenario where he plays all over the field. Look for Mountcastle to make his Camden Yards debut at some point in 2020 as the Orioles continue their youth movement.
  5. Fantrax, this is most recent. https://www.fantrax.com/news/mlb/fantasy-columns/8kwnaq71k5mc82oj
  6. Thank you. You are partially correct, and there are also a number of other reasons I did it. If you are looking solely at Dynasty prospect rankings, both are projected to debut in 2020, Mountcastle is ranked 84, Deivi 143. I don't go too much by that stuff when I am analyzing a player to target. However, normally the guy you are trading with takes that into account in terms of value in return.
  7. Hi guys, how is everyone doing? I really miss baseball. Not too much work today, for once!. Was able to relax a little. Family is still trapped in a different country, so here alone. I am making salmon, asparagus and broccoli with cheese tonight for dinner. I think I have cooked more in the quarantine than I have in the past 10 years. So, I did a few mock drafts for a Yahoo league I am in. No OBP or Slugging in scoring. I think I am much better at Dynasty leagues then full draft leagues. My first draft was a D- I am now up to C+ LOL.. I guess I have some work to do prior to Tuesday. I completed a trade in this league today, that was nice. I then entered my new player in my Excel spread sheet I and jerked off to my team for a bit. However, I kept on getting calls and I was interrupted before I could climax. Last time I had blue balls like that was when Beans told me he wanted to trade for Tatis and then ghosted me for two weeks. I have been re-watching the original Magnum PI series on Prime. I used to watch when I was much younger. I had forgotten Magnum was a huge Tigers fan. There is even an episode that has a guest appearance by Trammel and Whitaker. That was a pretty damn good double play combo and talk about strength in your middle infield. Hopefully Bichette and Biggio can be the next Trammel and Whitaker. Just ordered a kids fishing rod for my son, so we have something to do whenever he gets back during quarantine. We can fish the lake from the bank in front of my place together and not be breaking any rules. I just need to keep a close eye out for Gators. My son is still the size they like to hunt. So apparently I am COVID-19 free at this point in time, I received my test results the other day. I was a little worried there for a while. I am still awaiting my tests for Gonorrhea and syphilis though.. Why does it have to take sooo long?? And the constant itching!! Just so you know Beans, I bequeathed in my will that if I were meet a sudden death that BTS was to be contacted and instructed to reverse our last trade. Te juro.. I must be dead though. On an incubator does not count. Well nice chatting with y'all. I miss you guys. In the words of the great Joe Montana. I am going go upstairs and masterbate. Have a good evening.
  8. Let me know when you get a chance. Thanks
  9. Criticizing vegans will be my next subject when the board needs a shot in the arm to create some more posting and debate. It was getting pretty dead here for a while outside 2-3 threads if that.
  10. No offense taken. I don't expect everyone to have the same opinion. If we all were in lock-step on this board, it would be pretty fnnn boring. We can still be trading buddies and have different viewpoints I am going to take credit for stimulating debate and posts, regardless if you and others don't agree with me. Someone pointed out in a previous post that addictions started out in the teens. Hence I keep referring to teens to be germain to the data.
  11. I am not writing a scientific paper that requires 3 citations per statement. I am on a fnnn baseball chat board with a total of like 22 other posters. People who get addicted due to social partying etc, etc does not equal IMO those who get addicted due to injury, PTSD, prescriptions pretty fnnn simple concept to understand. You are trying to play gotcha on a fnn baseball chatboard. To any reasonable person I have made my point/opinion pretty clear. I was also making my points/opinion without attacking anyone personally. Then my jealous little fanboy decided to chase me around threads and make personal comments.. Fine, big fnn deal, but I am going to come right back at you if you go down that road.
  12. Dude, if you haven't got my point or position by now, you are never going to get it. We started out talking about Halladay and my examples started out more specific to that. Then the discussion broadened. Even in the example you cited, I said recreational. A guy suffering from PTSD is NOT my meaning of recreational drug use.
  13. To clarify, I am pretty sure I put PTSD in one of my prior posts. I am in general trying to differentiate between the reason for the addiction. In the case of heroin, it is a substitute for pain pills and one of the reasons I did not use an an example In general terms, because there are a 1000 hypotheticals, and the point I am trying to make is: I have more sympathy for someone with a substance abuse problem due to legit s*** like PTSD and trauma etc then some kid who started because of peer pressure, cool crowd, their parents didn't love them enough, they didn't get the part in the high school play, their girlfriend broke up with them, Trump won the election, climate change, or their parents cut off their allowance and they are so stressed because they can't find a job with their degree in underwater basket weaving.
  14. See, Dick knows more about me then you ever will Pendelton, you below replacement career AAA poster.
  15. No, that is exactly my point. I don't put someone who becomes addicted to any type of drug because suffering from PTSD, in the same boat as some 17 yr old who gets addicted because he/she was running around with the cool crowd and they thought it was the cool thing to do.
  16. Those are two examples to make a point you choad. You know nothing about me, literally nothing. I can f***ing guaranty you I have done more with my life then a guy who's claim to fame is 5 yrs in the same Fantasy baseball league and is now the self proclaimed Fantasy baseball Police Captain. You couldn't even carry my jock strap. Seems like a lot of you want to make excuses and coddle people who became self-addicted to recreational drugs. Yes, we should help them, and yes addictions are extremely hard to buck. However, there also needs to be self-accountability and self-discipline in life. There are people who made a choice and others who by no fault of their own or following doctors recommendations became addicts. Not equal to me and never will be. Full disclosure. I think weed should be fully legal. No problem with it. Never done hard drugs. Plenty of opportunity. I lived in Fnnn Colombia for over 7 years and south Florida for a large portion of my life and never touched the s***. Self-discipline and personal responsibility.
  17. Actually, I have a shitload of very close buddies who got hooked on fnnn prescribed opiates because 20 yrs of war takes a toll on you and seeing guys who have been in helo crashes, IED explosions, shot, or are dealing with PTSD and suicidal issues due to years of war. I don't equate those f***ing heros dealing with a serious issue to some punk who goes to UCC, live in Forest Hill has too much of daddy's money and was so stressed about climate change and social inequities that he blows $2K on coke a week and becomes addicted. Of course you wouldn't know one f***ing thing about the first example you infantile.
  18. Sorry, I refuse to think that drug addict was an appropriate description of Roy Halladay. I also refuse to equate people with opiate problems that derived from an injury/prescription with those running around jonesing for a bump of coke or doing meth in the trailer.
  19. It is to me. Coke, meth etc are a personal lifestyle choice. Athletes, Veterans, people who had to have various types of surgeries, were prescribed these drugs initially by a doctor or trainer, they are told they need to take them. The pharmaceutical companies are fighting tooth and nail against legalizing marijuana so they can keep pumping addictive obituate and doctors keep getting incentives to push them. We have many good people by no fault of their own are addicted. Unless you are a deep undercover narc in the movies, no one is putting a gun to your head to try coke, meth, etc. To me, not apples and apples.
  20. While the term drug addict might be accurate. To me a drug addict is someone who got addicted to recreational drugs because they liked coke or meth too much etc. Those who suffered injury, athletes, veterans etc who were prescribed pain killers and then can not shake them and have a problem, are not in the same class IMO. I think to call them drug addicts is putting them in the same basket as some idiot who did meth for fun one night and then became addicted.
  21. If I were Blue Jays FO- Veen.
  22. If you are talking real life vs Fantasy. Look at the 2009 Draft. We all know Stratsburg went # 1 The first hitter taken was Dustin Ackley at #2 then another hitter at #3 and #4. Pitchers were taken 5 through 12 The pitchers from 5 through 12 had as an aggregate, much better careers then the hitters who were 2 through 4.
  23. Sad, way before Roberto Alomar, when I was kid playing 2b at recess I was Damaso Garcia. * Was it COVID related or natural causes?
  24. Biggio plus?!! Might as well stop thinking.. Biggio is not going anywhere for Bell. Hell no! Thanks though.
