  1. Would it not be better if Solarte was batting #2? JD 3rd, Smoak 4th.
  2. I know what you are saying. I watch about 100 games per year for the last 5 years. Can't say I remember him doing anything good, but yes, his stats are pretty good. Probably that I think of the worst and am just grateful if he gets through it.
  3. As I have said before. Loup is not a Major league pitcher! Someone likes him though. Can't stand seeing him getting warmer up.
  4. My take aways from Yesterday: Happ looked great Buck did not appear or sound drunk! Smoak keeps watching 3rd strike. Still not convinced Loup is a major leaguer.
  5. I did say it was my opinion. Anyone wants to go to an all-star team until its not. If I recall, Tulo went something like 0 for 24 in the games immediately before he was traded. I'll let you verify. I think he was asked, felt he wasn't wanted and lost confidence.
  6. I'm saying that because he always was. He has always liked being front and center and he certainly was for the Rockies. JD, while the best player around, doesn't have that same need. IMHO
  7. Definitely it is a big contract. I'm OK with lower batting stats if his defensive skills return. I think having Joey gone may be a positive impact. Tulo likes to have his own team and didn't like being second fiddle. I think this will be a much better year.
  8. If Tulo has a fairly good year, is he still tradeable at the deadline with his current salary? That would be a good scenario.
  9. Sorry to see Barney go. I liked the guy. Professional.
  10. He may be old and slow, but he was easy to ridicule - and most of us have had fun doing it! He had a great career but the time has come, maybe a year too late.
  11. I happen to like Pillar. If I recall, he was batting quite well before the Slur thing. I'm sure that became a distraction. Pillar is also entertaining and I would think that helps the bench as well. I think the whole team (except Smoak and Donaldson down the stretch) where hurt by Joey's god-awful year. When a full-time player hits 205ish, with tons of strikeouts and GIDP's , its hard for the next guys to be overly excited. IMHO
  12. Which pot strain are you smoking? I am so done with that guy.
  13. Yup, a pretty slow time of year!
  14. Thanks. I'm just sayin. Catching is a very demanding position on the body and I think Martin will be playing a lot less. Appreciate your views.
  15. Since we have been talking about various positions - Is it just me thinking there is a crapshoot at catcher? I would expect that position to hit 230 or so and I don't see that happening. IMHO
  16. There's always gone to be someone who shines!
  17. Well, it would be nice to have JD but that is too much $. Did you ever look at the roster and ask yourself where did these guys come from? Sometimes they just fit in and are protected by other hitters. Joey, EE, Smoak, Osuna, Sanchez, Biagini, JD, Estrada, Pillar etc. Most came from nothing or the minors. Free agency and these old guys are not worth it. have a great team and buy rentals at the deadline. Let Joey go. Wait another year for JD. Pray Travis can play a full season, find some speed and a pitcher who can burn innings. IMHO (just a rookie).
  18. I would like to see that whole inning again. Crazy.
  19. This game and this year is a f***ing embarrassment!
  20. Baseball is all f***ed up. Why would he get a raise? While I like JD, he has significantly under-performed this year.
  21. I sure hope with Montero that a walk or a single is not an automatic double!
