    Grichuk is making his season debut tonight after off season sports hernia surgery. Hopefully more ready to go than his numbers from his rehab assignment would suggest (.288 OPS in 36 PA at AAA).

    I was ready to scoff at the disappointment in Merrifield having a game off, as I had thought he'd started just about every game so far. But after today he'll have started 20 of 27 games, which puts him on pace to start 120 this season. We should be using him at least a bit more than that.

    The Mariners have a couple fresh lefty arms out in their pen, Saucedo last pitched on the 23rd and Speier the 26th. I won't be surprised if their game here is start this righty with the intent of turning it over to the lefties rather quickly.

    The post was from September when he was called up to make a 3 inning outing for the Rays, so he's debuted but this will be his first start. They DFA'd him in the off season and he was picked up on waivers by the Red Sox, before being dealt to Seattle a month later for cash considerations. Six years in the Rays org after being a 4th rounder, but cast aside after 3 major league innings.

    Rooker is hitting .305/.417/.695 in 59 ABs, with 7 HR and a K/BB of 13/12. Just a scorching hot April, or is he the next late 20s breakout power hitter?

    That's quite a drop off, top 30-40 prospect in the game five years ago and released at age 26.
