    I personally have always had a lot of respect for those pitchers who don't have great "stuff" but are able to hit their spots well enough to grind out 200 fairly consistent innings per year...wouldn't want to see those types start to evaporate. I'm fine with bullpen days replacing the shitballers, but beyond that I'm not sure I like the idea.

    Yeah I feel like both are going to be offered multi year deals in the ballpark of that number, so I don't understand the decision at all.

    It would be different if he had the stuff to suggest he'd be a good reliever, but in his case I agree that we're better off trying to squeeze out whatever value we get from him as a starter first

    Yeah the team is allowing a record setting number of high danger chances, and Gibson is the only thing keeping them for complete futility.

    I barely follow the sport, and have never really cheered for a particular team besides the Netherlands in international play. I could see choosing whatever big club de Ligt ends up transfering to.

    Yeah you're right that it would need to happen at the start of each inning and/or appearance in order to be effective. Probably a bit too tedious, but I was picturing someone bolting out bat boy style to do a quick 15 second inspection and running back. Likely far fetched, but I just want them to come up with something that ensures equal ground.
