  1. That article isn’t a list of available relievers, it’s saying the demand in general is going to be even higher than normal. Your take away should be that we can hold out for a ransom.
  2. Inevitable once Stanton was back.
  3. I love that 4 of the 5 player winners are internationals. Can't really argue with any of the selections, none were even close in the end. Antetokounmpo is going to be insane when he improves his 3 point shot. He should spend all summer just doing shooting practise.
  4. I think the only person I ever put on the IL simply because they were just consistently negative was Atothe (who was just super depressing for a while!), and I'm not sure he even posts anymore.
  5. This board would be almost unusable without the ignore list. Having said that, you can just skip past any post and you don't have to read everything in the threads you are interested in. It's got to be a poster that either doesn't contribute anything, or is a full time troll to go with the IL.
  6. With the extra year of control and a relatively cheap salary, pretty much every team that isn’t in an active rebuild should be interested. You’d think that a team that needs starters isn’t likely to give up a starting pitcher who is close to the majors, but we need to get at least one prospect who is nearly ready even if it’s a position player. FWIW I think we should be targeting starters with the Giles trade.
  7. Always fun winning a series at Fenway.
  8. Plenty of people because of its length. However, even if he sucks for a couple of years it should still be easy to move him (because the contract is relatively cheap) and let another team hope he breaks out.
  9. Technically only about 1 WAR, but that’s not the point. No one is disputing that his contract isn’t very expensive, the issue many people have with the contract is the length of it and that out of all the potential players to commit to for the future, Grichuk is the one who was locked up.
  10. Maybe he didn’t want to come out while he’d finally started getting hits to fall in, but yeah a 10 day IL stint would probably have been sensible. This season of all seasons we should be ultra conservative with potential injuries.
  11. When did mlb.tv change the graphics for innings breaks? I like the new ones.
  12. Haha, let’s not get carried away mate.
  13. I feel he will every time I watch him!
  14. Not a surprise but on the game broadcast Shulman just confirmed SRF is just in case Stroman (or the next couple of starters) leave early, and Romano will be back ASAP but as he has options he’s the unlucky one to go down this time.
  15. Missed the 1st inning and this is the first game I’ve watched in nearly two weeks. Am I crazy to be looking forward to this, haha?
  16. Mark Melancon?
  17. You can’t play against yourself mate, 32 teams = 31 teams to be played 5 times each. 31 x 5 = 155 games.
  18. Increasing to 32 teams and playing everyone 5 times = 155 games. But IMO that’s still not enough of a reduction to compensate for the increased travel.
  19. Just a bit of tempering expectations, the article says it won’t happen until 2023 at the earliest and it’s only being “explored as an option” right now.
  20. Finally, the first step in the relocation of the Rays!
  21. It wouldn’t benefit Danny Jansen, losing his framing would make him one of the worst players in the league this year!
  22. Alternatively - Vlad eats his way out of the league, Bo is a bust, and Biggio cripples himself in another car accident.
