The problem is that "cash poor" teams simply over value prospects. Has been happening for years and the return for giving up a bona fide star like Skubal is never a sure thing and rarely a good thing.
On the flip side is the reality that many of these teams, like the Tigers, choose to be "cash poor". They simply don't reinvest their revenue into their baseball system the way the Dodgers do.
Yes I hate the Dodgers, they are an easy target to hate; but, if the owners want parity they should start by looking in the mirror. Not by holding the baseball world hostage with a lockout..
