    You know, if you look at the sabr defensive indexes for shortstop the guy is middling/average. Watching other ss this season and you see Witt Jr. or Walls this guy isn't special.

    You know, we really should expect so much more from Gimenez. He has kind of gotten off easy because we're focused on the Vladdy collapse. I haven't been impressed with him both with the bat and D.

    Relevant is a different thing. I was just pointing out that scouting grades are so dynamic when a player is young. Are they toolsy is sometimes very hard to quantify in baseball. It is why players continue to develop even a decade into the majors sometimes regressing (Vladdy?). I will pull up Biggios scouting report for you.

    Look up Biggio's grades from back in 2016. I think you will be surprised at his speed rating and hit tool.

    It didn't sound that bad if you watch the interview in the link hanton posted above. Maybe Gausman needed a change of scenery too. Wouldn't surprise me if goes out and dominates the rest of the season.

    Sometimes you collect assets that you can move in the future for something (hopefully) better. Not everyone you trade for has to be on your 40 man (although I think they are going to give Bateman a fair look). Will Wagner turned into Brendon Valenzuela. Look at the assets that Atkins trades away, hardly a regret among them. Atkins is smart that way.
