  1. In fairness, I think every team that is currently in play is being used as a bargaining chip. Nothing wrong with that, it's just business. The Jays likely have the highest AAV offer right now but it seems Tucker (who turns 29 this month) is looking for a term that teams are not comfortable with. Let's see who blinks first. Wouldn't surprise me if the team that blinks first is the Mets, it's just their way. The Jays are not out of it in my mind. Who else would be able to stroke checks for a contract north of $300M? The list is extremely short right now.
  2. The Jays 2026 payroll is about to crack $300M before opening day. What a time to be a fan. AL east should be a dogfight for whomever finishes behind the Jays. I'm still holding out hope for Bo or Tucker signing.
  3. Thank you Brock. You have done a great job on the site. Happy new year everyone. First spring training game is February 21!
  4. Run away Ross and don't look back.
  5. If you're suffering from BWS (baseball withdrawal syndrome) MLB uploaded this yesterday.... 1:40:20
  6. I was hoping St. Atkins would be in the mood for giving before xmas. Still waiting....
  7. Jays play the chisox first week of the season. I think he goes yard on Cease.
  8. Of the Dodgers top six prospects four are outfielders. De Paula, Hope, Sirota, Quintero. They are loaded. Their roster is also on the precipice of aging fast. To sign Tucker it would make sense to trade Teo but I don't see it happening. Smart move for them is to take a pass on Tucker, but then again they're the Dodgers.
  9. In the heart of the off season we take it to another level here at Blue Jays centre.
  10. Why would the Jays allow him to pitch in the WBC prior to the beginning of the season? Why would he even consider it ? His goal should be to be completely healthy on opening day. La Makina is starting to piss me off.
  11. Yeah it's a huge number for Tucker. If the Jays land Bo with 7/210 I wouldn't complain I guess. He would be entering his last year of that contract at age 34/35 so not the end of the world for the Jays. Some in this board were predicting that Bo would garner a bigger payday than Tucker before the off-season. 😂
  12. Nothing groundbreaking but anyways...
  13. I could see him going as high as 6/$180M
  14. Let Bo go folks. Bellinger can play all three outfield positions. Can spot Vladdy on 1b. And you can reinvest the dollar differential to eventually sign Varsho or go elsewhere. Edit: and devastating the Yankees is a fringe benefit
  15. I will take what's behind door number three Monty... Cody Bellinger. Less money than Tucker, more versatile than Bo and better defensive value. That said, always take the better player when forced to choose. Right?
  16. Taylor Rogers contract apparently has a vesting option that could up the deal to $48M total value. The Jays are sure pushing their chips to the center of the table. Rumour has it that Taylor Rogers was told if he signed with the Jays, Atkins promised to name the stadium after him too. Boss moves all around.
  17. David Stearns is going to get canned. Good luck in 2026 Juan Soto.
  18. Got to give it up to Shapiro for getting the dollars out of Rogers to support this team. That alone is quite an accomplishment.
  19. Crazy if true. Can't see this happening.
  20. The Polar Bear is going to fall of a cliff in year 3. Congratulations O's.
